The Nissan Micra 2005 1.4 - does this car come out with Power Steering?

Since I bought this car used on the dash is a light PS constantly on. But the garage I bought the car from insisted that it is not power steering however I have developed muscles from the steering wheel being very tight. Hard to turn. The garage also still cannot tell me what the light is for.

SOURCE: steering wheel hard to turn; power steering fluid is full

Hi,
Intermittent hard power steering, at the begining of the turn of the steering wheel, once disturbed past the hard part, works normal.
Had fluid change, I notice a sensor, on the control block tower of the rack, is this at fault ? thanks buckleyeng.

SOURCE: Steering warning light on 2005 suzuki reno

Speed Sensitive Power Steering
(SSPS) Warning Light
If your vehicle has Speed Sensitive Power
Steering (SSPS), this warning light will
come on briefly when you turn the ignition
to ON as a check to show you the bulb is
working.
Then it should go out after a few seconds.
If the warning light does not come on, have
it fixed so it will be able to warn you if there
is a problem.
If the warning light stays on, or comes on
while you are driving, the SSPS system
may not be working. If this happens, see
your SUZUKI dealer for service.

SOURCE: 2005 toyota sienna van power steering very hard

Most likely the problem is the lower steering knuckle. This is the one outside of the firewall, under the vehicle and it hooks up to the power steering assist cylinder. In my opinion the knuckle has to work at an unreasonably steep angle and this compounds the problem. The knuckle (especially in salt areas starts to corrode and becomes hard to turn. Toyota says the water gets into the bearing and they beings to rust the bearing and turning the whell starts to feel stiff. I have this problem and I sprayed liberal amounts of a rust inhibitor that a local place uses to rust proof cars (They sell small spray bottles of it for $5). They are called OIL TECH in Barrie, Ontario and make up their own formula. The formula has addatives that breaks the surface tension on the oil treatment and gets it into the tiny cracks and crevices on your vehicle. I sprayed this all over the knuckle, turned it back and forth a couple of times and continued spraying. I let it sit for an hour and went for a test drive -- problem solved. You could actually see the rust on the exposed parts of the knuckle. I probably will have to do this once every month of two but what the heck. It is a lot cheaper than having to replace the steering shaft ($1000+???) Probably other types of rust proofing or lubricating oils will work. I long for the old days of grease fittings and you never had to replace ball joints and tie rod ends etc.

SOURCE: power steering problems with 1997 ford taurus

What! Not likely the pump, if it has fluid. Most likely the steering rack is shot. Have a reman installed and flush the cooler or the new one will fail. Install a FILTRON magnetic filter, in the return line also. Use Mercon or Mercon V Fluid, not auto part store **** and never any sealers. If you want ,you could make up a blend of Lubegard and Mec V. I do all the above,If it isn't like a new car after all that, check out the ball joints , but especially the bearing assy on top of the struts. They could be half your stiffness. What causes these steering racks to fail ,is because, no one changes the fluid every couple years, just like you never flush brake fluid or trans fluid. I made a living in the trans business ,just on Taurus and Chrysler Caravans, for that very reason. Don't you just love neglect?

SOURCE: steering wheel turn to hard to move lincon town

If you know the pump is good and I don't see
how you know that ,then the steering rack is seizing

You could flush the fluid, add an inline filter, and some
lubgard steering additive or dealer steering additive
(not any Lucas Products)

I thing you need a new rack.

That is assuming the suspension parts are not tightening up

How to fix a nissan micra 1400 power steering light that comes on, no power steering.I have had it reset 3 times. Shows fault codes 5606 and 5608. What can I do please?

I presume your vehicle has a electric motor power steering , as you haven't given year, I would say as this fault keeps recurring then changing the steering motor is the solution

Nissan micra 2005 reverse light fuse position

The fuse for the reversing light on a 2002-2010 (K12) Nissan Micra is in the fuse box located in the engine bay.

There is a long column of 15 fuses on the right-hand side of the fuse box. The reverse light fuse is the 6th fuse from the bottom of that column. It's a 10A red fuse.

Please note the following if you plan to look this up in the service manual:

1. The service manual calls this fuse box the "IPDM E/R", which stands for "Intelligent Power Distribution Module Engine Room".

2. The service manual refers to the reversing light as the "Back-Up Lamp". This is also abbreviated as "BACK/L".

3. The BACK/L fuse is fuse number 50 in the service manual.

Hope this helps!d5e9e3bc-a23b-44d9-a435-5d6073a19e25.jpgipdm diagram-cdgjilkbgodlujzt0wf142s4-6-2.jpgfuse number 50-cdgjilkbgodlujzt0wf142s4-6-3.png

What does the PS stand for on the nissan march 2005 as this light has come up and it is hard to steer

It means there is a fault with the power steering system.

If the power steering pump is failing or if you have a major fluid leak in the ps system you will have minimal power assistance on your steering.

This is a very dangerous condition and you need to have the car checked out by a competent workshop immediately. If you do not and you lose your power steering assistance entirely the car wil be EXTREMELY hard to steer.

It is quite irresponsible of you not to have taken the car in for service already when you can already feel that there is a serious problem with the power steering assistance. Want to have an accident and potentially kill or maim someone do you? If you are driving the car around in that condition it is unroadworthy and any insurance cover you have is prejudiced.

2005 Nissan Micra start when push but not with the key and there is power

Not an expert on non-us Nissans, but there should be a clutch switch to prevent you from cranking the engine in gear.
I would check the circuit with that switch.

Power steering blocked

If the Power Steerring Oil level is low then in the morning PS light comes on and when the Engine is hot enough the Volume of  Steering Oil increases and light goes off. If you use the thicker oil than the standared steerign oil even then the light comes on, and when you drive the car, steering oil get hot and dialutes and light goes off. If your PS light remains permanently on and you feel no problem with your Power Steering, then it may be the  cause of moisture in your Car Computer.
