2008 wrangler. abs, esp and traction control light staying on. checked brake fluid and fuses

Check first the third eye brake light. does it work? okay the problem reside in a ABS sensor make sure it is hook up or if you recently did a brake job it didnt get contaminated. When the ABS signal is interfered with ESP,Traction is disabled. One or some of the wheel speed sensor is disconnected or is being interfered with. This is common for a recent brake job if any occured

Abs light stays on I have put new brake line on new calipers because they were sticking causing brakes to get hot, thats all fixed but light still stays on.

the ABS light is on because there has been a fault detected by the ABS module. It has nothing to do with the actual braking system.

The ABS module does a self check every time you start the vehicle. If it detects a problem during that self check the ABS light will stay illuminated and a code or codes for the fault will be stored in the ABS module. Scanning the module will allow you to pull the codes and proceed with diagnosing why the fault is occurring.

The most common source of ABS problems is bad wheel speed sensors or broken wires to the wheel speed sensors. Again pulling the codes from the ABS module will narrow down the possibilities.

Once you now what codes are present post them and we will be happy to assist you further.

Abs light has been on for 2 years & ABS does not work. Wet roads yesterday and light went out and the ABS worked. Can I fix it?

Yes you may fix it. You probably have a problem with a speed sensor. This sensor is used to determine wheel speed for the abs controller. The wet weather may have cleaned the sensor off enough to start working again. It is easier to repair if you get the code that was turning on the abs light and it will tell you what sensor is causing the problem. then you should be able to fix it yourself. chances are the light will be back.

The codes read that there is a erractic wheel speed sensor signal problem ....the abs lights stay on

Many new vehicles including chevys have the wheel speed sensor and or abs sensor connected to the wheel bearing itself. Its a wire going right into the bearing which is sometimes visible. Over time the bearings get a little play in them and causes the sensor to read incorrectly. The only fix is to change the wheel bearings. (they come with the sensor too). Most of the time repair shops are a good option for this repair. Unless it is a bolt on style in which most DIY's can handle it just fine.

1999 Ford Ranger with 4 wheel ABS. I replaced the brakes on all four wheels and the rear wheel cylinders. The rear brake lines were open individually for a very brief time, and bled conventionally. I would...

The brake pads and shoes are not elec., your abs light is on because your abs computer pick up a bad signal from one of your abs sensor's,, take it to any auto parts or some one like autozone where they can do a code reading and get back us with the code so we can help you diag. your trouble code.

Brake light & ABS light on, speedo problem

I recently had the same problem on my 99 dakota R/T. My symptoms included the abs and brake light staying lit, speedo failing to work at all speeds and the truck would occassionally stall when coming to a stop. I ended up replacing the rear abs speed sensor (on top of the rear diff) and all is well now. The truck runs exactly as it should. You are looking at a $30-$35 dollar part.

1998 Honda Passport 4wd won't engage, ABS light on.

The ABS and the AWD are interconnected, if the sensor cable is damaged then there is no signal for the AWD sytem to operate from.
Also the ABS,,it wont work properly either,,,the repair is not costly, get it fixed.

ABS Dash Light on??

the abs system has picked up on a problem with the abs. the abs will not be functional till the problem is repaired. the abs cpu needs to be scanned for fault codes and it will tell the mechanic exactly which part of the system is having trouble. once fixed the light will go out. mike

Code c1277 (steering angle sensor)

this vehicle uses a steering control module and the antilock control module. Both modules get a signal from the steering angle sensor. We found that the steering module didnot show a steering sensor code but the ABS module did show the code.
after checking that the wiring was intact and with good continuity, it was determined that the fault lies in the ABS module.
A new ABS module and configuration confirmed the diagnosis. It's fixed!
