Have someone watch the drive belts and pulleys at the front of the engine as someone tries to start it. Make sure all of them are turning. If they are, most likely the noise you here is crankshaft bearings. Replace the engine or car.

There is a connector under floor mat on front passenger side.
With the car turned off, jump this contactor out and turn the car to on position. After 2 seconds the abs light will blink given you codes.
After you fix the problem, you will need to remove the jumper, and pull all 3 abs fuses. Wait 3 seconds a reinstall the fuses. Now plug the connector back into its holder.
Now start the car, and the code should be cleared.

SOURCE: 91 acura check engone light is on code 1an3 what could be the pro

I'd go get a reading from an auto parts store!
Advance Auto Parts will usually do this for free!
Are you having any noticeable problems besides the code lights?
Hope this is helpful!
Good Luck!

SOURCE: my 93 acura legend wont start. Ticking sound??

That sounds like a dead battery. The ticking sound is the relay (a type of switch) which enables power to the starter motor when you turn the key. If the battery is weak, the relay will click, but there is not enough power to turn the starter motor.

SOURCE: How do change a Thermostat for a 91 Acura Legend

  1. Drain the cooling system and remove the lower radiator hose from the thermostat housing.
  2. Remove the thermostat housing bolts, the housing and the thermostat.
  3. Clean the gasket mounting surfaces.
  4. To install, use new gaskets and reverse the removal procedures; install the thermostat's spring end toward the engine. Torque the housing bolts to 9 ft. lbs. (12 Nm).
  5. Refill and bleed the cooling system.

Chirping noise when accelerating

If it is a belt noise, sprinkling baby powder on the belt will make the noise go away. Apply liberaly with engine off onto the belt and start the vehicle. The belt may have gotten coolant on it and this will cause the chirp. Also a defective belt tensioner will cause the belt to chirp

Why is my 2001 Yukon making a chirping noise

I would check the freon level, because that would be the cheapest fix. If it's not the freon, it could be the AC compressor. If the compressor is locked up, it could make a screeching noise. As far as your brakes, I'd use some brake cleaner. Most likely (unless you've driven it tens of thousands of miles already) they are just dirty. Dust collects quickly on brakes. Hope this helps!

2003 Saturn ion. Auto started cherping when radio is on, why?

does the chirping sound seem to come from the engine compartment? if so, turning on the radio may put a larger strain on the alternator. if your belt is old or the tensioner is going bad that extra strain could be enough to make the belt chirp.

Makes a chirping sound when the car is initially started

Have you checked the engine bay for a bird's nest ? LOL
Seriously now, I think it is one or more of your drive belts, just when starting to turn all your engine bits. Have those tightened or replaced as needed and you should be OK.

Chirping sound

Start with the AC , when the sound starts, turn off the AC and see if it goes away. If that works, you have a problem with the AC compressor pulley. Check the other pulleys by taking the belt out and turning the pulleys one by one and seeing if it makes noise. Let me know how it goes.

96 volvo 850 won't start and horn and turn signal chirp on and off

My wife ran into this problem one day when she came out of a store. Turns out the car alarm had been set off in her absence, and the alarm system had immobilized the car. The solution was to simply use the remote (rather than the key) to unlock the car. That cleared the immobilizer, and she started it up and drove off.

Jaguar xJ6 X300 The electric seat has stopped working . I can hear the two relays clicking on the left hand side of the driver chair so assume the fuse is ok . Any ideas on how to fix it .?

the motors stick ( freeze ) i have heard that disconect the battery for an hour helps with this, and you may need to reprogram everything after..

Open the boot lid and drivers door, and switch on the ignition. Rock the valet switch, in the centre console, 5 times. The system will chirp to indicate it has entered learning mode.

On models with seat/mirror/steering wheel memory functions, the first remote will be linked to memory 1, second to memory 2 etc.

Press the larger, lock, button of the remote. The system will chirp to confirm it has got the signal. If it doesn't receive any signals for 15 seconds, it will chirp twice and exit learn mode.

To programme further remotes, rock the valet switch once. The system will chirp twice for remote number two, three times for number three etc, then press the lock button of the remote as above.

When finish, wait 15 seconds for the system to time out and chirp twice, turn off the ignition, close the doors and boot lid and the job is done!
