Hello Richard,

There doesn't appear to be a freeze plug on the front of the block.
They are always located on the lower sides of the block.

If you can see water on the front of the engine do a visual inspection when the motor is off and cold.

Take a rag and dry off any noticeable moisture. Start the engine and let it warm up, carefully check all the areas listed below to see if you can isolate the leak.

The radiator could be leaking and dispersing coolant towards the motor while driving the car. A hose or fitting could be leaking. The intake manifold or thermostat gasket could be leaking. The water pump could be leaking at higher RPM's.

Well you need a pressurizing tool, no way around it have it done or borrow the tool from Autozone.

1995 isuzu rodeo leaking coolant. Coolant leaks out even when vehicle is not running. I changed the hoses. I need the location of all coolant hoses. Its not water pump. Please help. Thank you Lucy

Sounds like a bad freeze plug. There's like 8 freeze plugs around the engine. 3 on each side and 2 in the rear between transmission. The only way to findout is by visually tracing the leak source.

Where is the freeze plug location on 1997 chevy 3/4 ton 2500

ther are a number of freeze plugs on that motor , if I remember there are 2 on each side and 2 in the front , pressure test it , you should find your leak then are you sure it is coming from the water pump the water goosneck is right on top of the manifold in the front , those are the only 2 things that can leak unless it is a head gasket on the outside which will not affect anything ,very rare but I have seen it , no hole in the heater hose or bad clamp crack somewhere , pressure test it, you should find it then good luck

My ford has a leak on the right side front it smells like coolant over a two day period all the coolant leaked on the ground what do i do?

Well depending on what engine is in this vehicle, it could possibly be the water pump that is leaking or possibly a "freeze out" plug on the block. I would say it is more than likely the water pump. If you have no noticeable leaks from any of the hoses or radiator, i would definitely suspect the water pump or possibly the thermostat housing may have cracked and started to leak. My suggestion would be to look at all your hoses carefullly and then check the housings where the hoses connect to the engine block, if no signs of coolant are present, check around the water pump for noticeable coolant leaks. Hope this helps in your search for that coolant leak.

Coolant leaking from above front suspension

If it's from the front of the engine, the water pump may have failed. Check for water coming out from the bottom of the pump.
Was the overheating caused by low coolant level?
If not the pump, check your engine freeze plugs and hoses.

My 1994 chevy caprice is leaking water

will try to help. where is the leak coming from? can you tell?under the front of motor where the engine fan is? could be water pump. could be a busted hose, upper or bottom radiator hose.there are 2 hoses that run to your heater core at the firewall or dash panel, could be there. leaking from sides of engine? could be a freeze out plug rusted through or if it's gotten below freezing and you did'nt have anti-freeze, most likely a freeze plug, they are designed to save your engine block from busting when you don't have anti-freeze in freezing weather. if you can repost your problem with a location, front, sides, or inbetween the back of engine and transission, i can help you. hope this helps and thank you for choosing fixya.com

Water dripping right front underneath

Is what the liquid plain water or coolant (water mixed with antifreeze). touch and smell the liquid, no smell = water, antifreeze smell and oily feel = coolant.
If plain water, could be Air Condition condensation dripping from condensation drain which is normal. (this drain is usually located near the center of the vehicle).
If coolant, could be leak(s) from: radiator, radiator hose, heater hose, water pump, engine freeze plug. A coolant system pressure test should show what is leaking.

Antifrezz is leaking from the engine no hoses are broke whers is it coming from

If all your hose and hose clamps are good. There is a good chance that the water pump has to be replaced, once the water pump bearing is worn. The coolant will leak from the weep hole on the water pump when the engine is running and the only way to stop the leak is to replace the water pump.
Thank you for using fixya.
Depending on engine size a 3.1 liter v6 and a 2.2 **** 4cyl. are both located in the front of the engine.
Remove serpentine belt,remove 4 10mm from pulley (v6)(three 13mm for 4cyl.)remove pulley.v6 will have 6 8mm bolts,4cyl. will have 4 13mm bolts-remove clean surfaces install new pump.
About 40 mins.v6,60mins for 4cyl. Be sure to drain coolant before you start, refill whith proper coolant, some 95 up gm require dexcool anti freeze (orange in color).

freeze plugs will be located towards bottom of the engine. It could be the water pump, or a bad hose.
