Low volts wont harm the starting system
means the alternator is working well
maybe the battery is old

more attention to regular servicing
and checking under the bonnet required

try cleaning the battery terminals
if the connection are that crusty
baking soda and hot water
or replace the battery cable connections with new brass ones

I also looked at all the other electrical components and the wires and fuses all look clean and the only thing I spot that is noticeable is the bad terminal harness and connectors but the truck wont even turn over at the moment got any more suggestions

truck wont start if less than 11.volts is solid and good cranking amps
your information suggest battery is dead or check ..the battery earth point on the chassis

or as you found the harness between battery and starter motor is corroded internally or needs a new cable to the starter

after you get 12 volts to the starter and it wont start

can you reach the starter motor and bridge across the solenoid to the starter motor brass nuts ..will spark but tests the starter

CLR is a brand of CALCIUM LIME AND RUST remover. You can try that or coke to see if that dissolves it.

What would be a solution to correct the problem?

Hi

I'm assuming you are talking about a washing machine.
You posted this under Cars & Trucks?

I suspect there is an inline filter (coarse plastic mesh) in the standard fill line. It's probable blocked itself with the accumulated calcium in the water.
You could use CLR (Calcium Lime & Rust) solution to dissolve the calcium.
Or
Disconnect the hose and push a small snake device (curtain spring) through the hose until you find where the filter or obstruction is.

Good Luck

Can be several things: Loose terminal connections to solenoid, corroded terminals or wires, bad solenoid with burned coil or pitted contacts. Lastly, a too worn out key switch. To find out, test proper (12VDC) voltage at solenoid coil terminal, check for a bad ground too. Then test wiring between key switch and starter. Some power feeds are fed from fusible link harness behind battery box. For the age of the car, there could be some corrosion on terminals or even corroded and broken fusible wires because of nearness of battery acid vapors tend to eat near wiring slowly. My two cents. Have no power at all but when i move the battery negative cable i will get power but wont start.. i just put a new battery in like 2 weeks ago.

If you get power by moving the battery terminals there is a loose or dirty connection, if the terminals on the cables are made of lead scrape them till they are a silver colour, same for battery posts .As a skin can form on the terminals and battery posts and make a bad connection , then check the other ends of the cables for tightness one cable will connect to the starter, the other to the chassie .

I have a 1990 oldsmobile silhouette. IT clicks one time and then nothing. took the starter off had it tested the starter is GOOD. What could this prob be?

Sounds like a bad ground or possible burn in the wiring harness. I would check all the factory locations for ground and make sure none of the connections have corrosion or any build up. Also you can follow the wiring harness and make sure there are no burns in it. Also take the battery in to be checked if not already done.

I can't get the positive battery terminal cable off of the old battery because it is too corroded. So, I would like to replace both terminal cables and the battery. The problem is there is a wiring harness...

Best would be to wet the battery terminals with water, take a sponge and place it on the battery terminals which are corroded and pour water to it, let it stay a while and again pour some water to the sponge, you will note tht the corrosion will start to fade away and thus you will be able to remove the battery terminals kinda easily!.
Hope this helps!

Won't turn over - rapid clicks - panel lights flicker

Check the battery condition - it may be flat,
check battery terminal posts are clean and connection cables are not loose or corroded.
