SOURCE: Speed sensor location on a Nissan Maxima 2000 GXE...

There are two speed sensors one is called a revolution sensor that is located on the case of the transmission. You can take the driver side wheel off and see the sensor on the top of the case of the transmission. A 10mm bolt is holding it in. Easy fix

SOURCE: 96 Nissan Maxima continues to have engine light

I had a similar problem - took it into 'Nissan Professionals' and they changed everything you did as well, and had no luck. After 4 or 5 times working on it, they told me that it was a 'loose wire' that had to be re-soddered and then the problem was fixed. I don't know where the wire was, but they made it sound like it was in or around the fuse panel under the hood.
I hope this might shed some light on the problem.

SOURCE: I got a 86 Nissan 720 4x4 it got a tbi that is

Hello! It can be done but it requires quit a bit of work and expense...You'll need a source for spark, intake manifold, a mechanical fuel pump, or a method to reduce fuel pressure to 7 PSI...It's not just a simple bolt on...You mentioned the TPS....If this is the only fault (plus carbon build-up in the throttle body)...I will fix the throttle body for you...Best way to go...If you have a volt meter and a little experience using it I'll send a test procedure and walk you through it...Send a comment....Guru...Saailer

SOURCE: 98 Nissan Maxima Have replaced plugs, mass air flow sensor, cleaned throttle body, adjusted TPS and car still stalls at stop lights, have to put in neutral so it won't die. I can have the vehicle

The EGR Valve is either stopped up with carbon or it is justed worn out.More than likely there's carbon stopping air flow. You can try cleaning it with a non-chlronated brake cleaner and a scraper or wire brush.Reset the computer.

I have a Ford F150 XL with a 4.6 W engine the floor got washed and now it boggs down on acceleration it is a 2009.I have replaced the acceleraton pedal and throttle body but still boggs down

Needs to go on a scanner. Throttle bodies have to be reset to the computer. No programming, just a relearn/procedure. I knew it was a bad idea to put the TPS on the gas pedal. Nothing under the dash is weather packed.

My 91 Nissan Maxima when idling in park or nuetral revs up and down. Then when it is in gear it revs up high like I am pushing on the gas. I have changed the throttle position sensor and that did not fix...

Check for any air leaks between the mass airflow meter and the engine like the rubber being split on the air intake boots etc.. I once had a toyota that would do the same thing and the fix for that was to flush the coolant passages in the throttle body, worth a try. Also you said you replaced the TPS. If the TPS has slotted holes you must set the minimum TPS volts or that can also cause idling issues. Clean the throttle body as well.

Engine idles fine but when throttle is pressed it boggs down and stays down untill you depress the throttle. will not drive

Sounds like clogged catalytic converter. Remove the exhaust pipe from the manifold and try it. If it revs ok, you have a clog.

2001 nissan maxima gle it bogs down when i press on the gas, idles low at .5 rpm, dies when i start it i have to keep my foot on the gas, lights run dim when i come to a full stop it has 155,000 miles

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you replace the MAF (mass air flow) sensor and the TPS (throttle position sensor). If the MAF and TPS is faulty the RPM tends to go down or goes erratic. The MAF and TPS is located at the throttle body which is secured by small screws or bolts. It is visible which can easily be seen.

Once replaced you'll be good. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
