I own a Opel astra g 1.8 2001 cse.My engine is real giving me problems.I just want to change the engine maybe to a lighter engine 1.4or1.6 and fit it in the same car.is it possible

To be honest it would be cheaper and a lot easier just to buy another car with a smaller engine in it!
It is possible to change but unless you have a lot of experience working on cars and the current engine is beyond repair it isn't worth the work needed.
You might have to change engine mounting positions, drive shaft lengths, subframe and mounting points. Then there's the electrics, a totally different wiring harness might be needed as well as any changes the the ECU on the vehicle

I want to do any oil and filter change on my 2006 Astra 4 door hatch it is Holden GM model AH CDx it has an ecotec 1.8l unleaded petrol engine

So what is the problem? The new filter for a Z18XE screws directly on to the front of the engine block behind the radiator, and the oil drains out of the drain plug at the base of the sump. The Z18XER only differs in that the filter sits in a round black housing visible from the top right of the engine and is requires a 32mm spanner to remove the cover. The filter is different from that on the Z18XE

05 saturn ion, ecotec, left/driver side radiator hose stays cold, doesn't over heat, and heater works great , new water pump and thermostat ,and head.

in cold weather with the heater on the engine will not get hot as the cab heater will keep the engine cool enough ,turn heater off and run engine at 2000rpm untill thermostat opens and fan comes on a bit later ,check it out before you use the car .Any problems answer this post so it comes back to me via E mail.this car is the same as a opel astra in europe .

Opel Astra 2001 1.2 ecotec - Hard to start and engine with hick-ups on idle

Guessing just wastes money . have the fault codes read first and find exactly which sensor/s are causing you a problem
not all faults energize the engine light and remember the engine light also refers to problems in the transmission

Hehe that's quite a job , it's just beneath under your left panel and just remove rubbers etc and probably one hook is loose , if not, the motor is dead

Opel astra club model.bt it smoke with engine operation what is problem?

gray smoke is water ( check water level )
black smoke is oil (check oil level)
also check if you are parked on an incline, if back of car is up un air then water can sit in the exhaust over night. and it can take upto 2hrs of driving to get it out. this will also give you gray smoke.

Sounds like water pump has given out. If you can slacken the belt that drives it and then run engine again briefly. If the noise is gone when you have done this it will be water pump for sure.

If you follow the tube out take back from the air filter you should find an electric plug in this will be your sencer location.

sounds like the temp sensor that goes to the computor is bad! temp must be around 190 for the computor to work properly,,,if it drops to zero then the computor doesn't know how to function properly!
