I am unable to shift my honda crv out of park.

Can the brake switch cause my car to not be able to shift out of park? If not what would it be?

My crv honda won't go into drive

hi shifter cable most likely or the shift lock solenoid make sure u r brake light circuit works if not the shift lock wont function check brake light fuse and bulbs for short circuit honda has a place on console where u can insert a key and unlock the shifter points strait down towards the ground u should have to remove a small plastic cover the size of a key and just push in the key strait down every time u go to park u have to disengage manually like that untill the problem is fixed danny

The gear shift in my honda crv 2004 is locked in park? I can use it with the screw driver releasing the gear, but would like to know what to do to fix it.

Check your brake lights. A malfunctioning brake light switch can cause the computer to think you are not pushing the brake pedal and it won't let the transmission range selector go! Good luck

Most likely the switch on the brake pedal, because you have to push the brake pedal first to get it out of park, Right ?
