1998 Cadillac Catera location of MAPmanifold absolute pressure sensor.

I can not find the location of MAP sensor. I'd like to clean it and check voltages signal and main of sensor before replace the parts. I know how looks like it.

SOURCE: coolant leak

You should be able to, so yes. If you have a coolant leak the pressure will build and slowly decrease or it will not get to the correct pressure. Unless the leak is in the radiator cap itself as the pressure tester generally uses a different cap.

SOURCE: where are the hoses that run to radiator to

I don't have a diagram, but your problem is the oil cooler underneath the intake on top of the engine. Remove the intake, and the cooler is right there in between the heads. Easy to change once you get the intake off. This is a VERY common problem on Cateras, and the symptom of it is oil in your coolant. I have a 1998 Catera and had the same issue.

Like someone said before, I think you have a bad heater valve. If the leak is towards the firwall / back of the engine, then you want to replace the heater valve. Just look behind the planum, at the rear of the engine, you will see a black cylinder with 3 hoses, that's the heater valve. To verify that it is bad, start the car and you will see the coolant oozing out of it. They go bad every so often. They are easily replaced, if you are handy with tools you should have no problems. One suggestion though: In removing the hoses from the bad one, and also replacing them on the new one, your work time will be cut in half if you have a pair of needle nosed pliers with bent nose. You will thank me for this tip :).

I need to replace the map sensor

MAP stands for Manifold Absolute Pressure. A map sensor is used for measuring vacuum pressure and helps in controlling the air and fuel mixture and well as timing. You have not mentioned which car's Map Sensor you want to replace. However, generally these steps must be followed:Start by Locating the sensor.Disconnect the negative cable for the battery.Unplug wiring harness and the vacuum hose.
- There are two screws that are holding the sensor in place, Unscreq them.Remove the old sensor and Reverse the above procedure to install a new sensor

I took my cadillac catera for an emissions test and it failed. They said it failed due to these to codes: P0171 and P0174. What do the codes mean?

Diagnostic Test Code (DTC) P0171 and P0174 are both "LEAN OXYGEN SENSOR" codes. One is for one side of the engine and the other is for the other side of the engine.

To put it simply, you have too much oxygen in your exhaust on BOTH sides of the engine at the same time.
This can be caused by a number of things including vacuum leaks, low fuel pressure, or a bad Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor or Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor.
This should be diagnosed using a scan tool that can read fuel trim data so that an effective repair can be made and verified.

Please note that it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that these codes are being caused by the oxygen sensors themselves.
