I guess,:
1; didnt read the suzuki fsm book on how, so guessed,
or builds engines on internet rumor, omg, really? its a new world.
2: its and interference engine, the 2.0L in USA is , are you in usa, is this the J20b engine. the b , has VVT too. on newer suzuki's
and not to be ignored or guessed at.
you just jammed a piston into the valves.
if you crank it, with starter, boom wrecked engine.
the book told you not to do that. so why did you.
can i guess the chain did not explode or break? \
if no, break, or TRAFFIC jam there (ugly mess) then.
the book says, step one, battery cable neg lug off,
so girl friend dont crank it and bend all the valve, yah.
then set crank to TDC mark, #1 firing, not 4. do that next.
this prevents you doing what you say.
my guess is the question now mutates how to cure my horrible blunder.
not sure.
I'd first fill a towel with tears then get wife to console me.
then try to think how to undo the error not pulling the head.
the answer is clear, you most move the cams gently, I hope they have a chain first and are timed first. so track right. then move the crank a bit cw, to TDC, bit by bit as you gently move cam in the direction that does not jam..
that will be at the CAM TDC marks, the trick is to move both
to get the marks correct, and not hit the valve lip poppet edges.
Next time, why not ask how to do it first.\
or better log in to mitchells and read the chain page.
every step every word is there. and the warnings.-
IT WILL HIT< all do. all J20s hit.
welcome to DOHC land, the land of hitting.
never do a DOHC unless you lean how first.
I promise !
only a few are non interference, mazda 1.8L is one. I see on Isuzu v6. too.
the reason is simple,(non turbo)!'
to get max power takes, 2 cams and 16 valves.
Makes it suck air MAX
4banger. so after all that, work, and cost\
the engineer chose aggressive valve timing.
and valve overlap that compliments the above.
see? why not go for max max air..... see?
the pistons chase the exhaust valve closed very very very close. this makes huge power. but tedious cam timing.
This is what its all about in DOHC land.
if turbo, we dont need max air, we force it.
IN the usa it has a belt drive.
https://www.suzukicarparts.com/parts/200...
but that dont matter at all , the drive.
the hitting matters, on both engines.\
\I had the chain J20a, in a GV.\
the Forenza is a hacked up,
Daewoo Lacetti
rebadged to Forenza in usa, it has this.
The US model line features the 2.0-liter four-cylinder D-TEC made by General Motors, developing a maximum power of 132 hp (98 kW) at 5600 rpm.
THE D-TEC is interfence just like real suzuki J engines are. only cheaper belt drive.rubber band engines..
posted now over 300 times this link
it's the OFFICIAL SUZUKI online FSM book.
and is only $4 to read, (dirt cheap)
why not , pray tell, read the official books
not guess, or read any rags like haynes or rumors.
usa only cars, and matching books
https://suzukipitstopplus.com/Category/3...
there it is for 301st time.
next time post the liter size of engine.
and if single or twin cams.
they have 5 engine choices.
most of ours is the 2.0L gm engine.

Not knowing how far your cam timing is off, your valves may be hitting the top one of a pistons. That may be why cam wont turn anymore.
May be best to back up the cam a bit, remove the spark plugs & with screw driver or wooden dowel probe the cylinders to see which piston is near the top.
Then rotate crank a bit to lower piston down the cylinders DO NOT USE STARTER to rotate engine while timing belt is off or valve damage may occur.
the wood dowl trick is savvy.
but plugs out is SOP
why fight the compression, ?
it dont matter, he must move the cam to a place it dont hit.
if he read the manual, he skipped step 1
and the book does not tell you how to correct the error of skipping step 1,
1: battery neg lug off.
2: engine at TDC on crank,, #1 firing. not #4
if you dont understand these simple steps
seek help. live living help works best.
#1 firing is, all valves, #1 closed and note that #4 see them open 1 or more)
that be step 1.
baring that, the cure is very carefully
do that, by moving the cam and the crank gently. to get there.
not hitting.
no person on earth can guess where your cam landed, with you last keyed off.
nobody, can.
thus the reason for STEP 1. on TDC.
all OHC engines, same deal.... all.
next time RTM , read the manual then leap.
or ask. what to do before the leap.
step one (nor 2)is not to be skipped and you did.

SOURCE: car repair manual for a 1997 suzuki vitara v6 2ltr petrol 24v
Haynes don't cover that engine. I've found a copy of the H25 engine manual which is similar to the H20 engine we have. If you search for SQ416 in google you'll find a copy you can buy or if you're lucky you'll find a free download somewhere like I did!! :-) It has helped me loads.
SOURCE: Radiator flush for my suzuki forenza.
For the do-it-yourself kind of mechanic, there is a kit sold by Prestone that will help you back flush the system using an ordinary garden hose. Available at most any auto-parts store, Walmart & such. It has the basic instructions on the container but I'll give you an overview.
You will need a large container to catch the anti-freeze coming out, You could drain it by removing the plug at the bottom of the radiator first , or remove the lower hose & get most of it out & then just flush the remainder, back-flushing is recommended.
There is a piece that fits into the radiator caps position that helps to aim the water towards a container but sometimes you can't use it due to size restrictions & limitations on space & have to catch the fluid with a drain pan as it overflows.
You will need to install a backflush connector "T". You simply cut into one of the 2 heater hoses, preferably the return line, and install that piece using 2 hose clamps to secure it. The garden hose hooks there.
The engine should be cool, you can crack a head or block by drowning a hot engine with ice cold water.
Just turn the water on slowly, once the anti-freeze stops coming out & it's just water, remove the drain pan & recycle what anti-freeze you can. Remember, most anti-freeze is fatal to birds & animals, including large dogs & children, so clean spills or at least dilute it with water until it is not a threat.
once done, drain the system & refill with the mix you prefer for your area, usually not less than a 50/50.
good luck.

Sorry for the severe delay.
I am personally going back to answer your unanswered question.
I do not know if you still need the answer, but I am going to answer it in case you still do.
Click on the following direct Link. It has the Timing Belt Diagrams and Photos with Marks for the Camshaft and Crankshaft that you will need. It also has numerous other helpful diagrams, instructions and photo's for use.
