sounds like your blower motor has stopped working check for power going to the blower system if you have power the blower is probably bad the concern is the lack of a fuse blowing or a breaker not cycling you may have a harness problem sometimes a low grade short will heat up wires then melt them together causing a multisystem failure even though a fuse or breaker didn't blow check you harness
This noise is indeed coming from the dash and it is caused by a part called the air temperature control blend door actuator motor. The noise is a tiny electric gear drive that moves the door and controls air temperature jumping teeth due to a defective sticking blend door inside the air ducting. To replace these parts requires the dash be removed from the car, a 12-14 hour job.
Sounds like an alignment issue. Loosne the motor mounting fasteners, and try to move the motor to another position...if not, pull the motor and investigate..
if it is coming from the air conditioner it could cause not only a serious problem but an expensive one, I would have it checked out as soon as possible.....hope this helps.....cheers
check the fuses 2 relays under hood the a/c compressor may not be engaging, when the a/c comes on you should hear a click at motor @ it will make your engine sound differnt,if your motor is running you can look at the compressor at the center of compressor, that all should be spinning
