The cooling fans are computer controlled, the engine temperature at which they are turned on is about 225-230F, the signal comes from the ECT sensor. The fans are controlled through a relay in the underhood fuse and relay power distribution box, the location of the fan relay is shown on a sticker on the bottom of the lid over the power distribution box. The fan system is tested by the computer when you run a fault code test with a code reader or a scanner. Do this and see if a fault code comes up. DO NOT OVERHEAT THIS ENGINE OR YOU WILL DO SERIOUS DAMAGE TO THE CYLINDER HEAD GASKETS RESULTING IN A HUGELY BIG REPAIR BILL. Get this repaired ASAP.

My 2005 equinox cooling fans come on for a few seconds &shut off making engine over heat &OVERHEATING What is the problem?

Should be a relay somewhere in the engine compartment - may be failing. You may be able to switch with another relay to diagnose.
Check your owners manual under fuses and relays.

2005 chevy equinox do my radiator and condensor

Hello: You may have a cooling fan(s) problem. Start the truck, turn the a/c on max, both fan and a/c control. Open hood the cooling fan(s) should be running. If not then you will need hands on trouble shooting. It could be fan(s) motor(s), relays, relay control, ie PCM, wiring, fuse etc. Systematic hands 0n trouble shooting will be needed with a upscale scan tool.

Chevy equinox overheating because the cooling fan connectors are bad.. can you purchase the connectors and fix yourself?

you should be able to purchase the connectors at a auto accessories shop or an electronics shop they don't have to be exactly the same as long as they do the job, but be very careful & make sure the wires are connected exactly the same as they are,if you reverse the polarity the fans will spin in the wrong direction & will not cool the engine properly......hope this helps......cheers.
