I want to know the engine number of my car

The VIN should be on that metal plate aswell , but if not check the tag on the rear end housing one should be the gear ratio and serial number and the other should contain the VIN failing that ypu can always check the Chassis and engine block . In some vehicles the vin will also be on the seat belts or printed in the wheel well for the spare tire. Youy can also check the firewall in the engine compartment. Good Luck

Usually, the engine and chassis number of nissan car can be seen in engine bay. Like a credit card size and all info of the car are casted on the shiny metal. Location in engine bay usually placed on a clear portion of a chassis. Sometimes it is located at driver side wall when you open the door. Other are located under the front passenger seat.

Every engine has numbers. Using the chassis number won't match the engine number if the engine has been replaced.

the engine number is the same as the chassis number ,so its no doubt 361330 ,plaque on front of engine right hand side just below the head

Chassis number is the same as your VIN# on the drivers corner of the dashboard near the glass. The engine number location varies with the particular engine but is rarely relevant to anything unless you are doing a vintage restoration.(most internal parts are interchangeable within certain engine sizes, outside components are vehicle and year specific) A replacement engine of the same size may carry a different number but the bore, stroke and compression ratio (stuff that matters) will be the same.

we have the same problem here in spain with american built vehicles ,When i come to do the paperwork and their is no engine number and the spanish authorities insist on numbers on everything and three copies of it all with stamps on.So when i get a crysler gran voyager or ford mercury with no chassis number stamped in the actual chassis ,just a silly plate in the dash which means nothing here .I do a bit of doctoring before the vehicle goes for its mechanical inspection and they evan measure it for height and width and length and they look for the stamped chassis number which on all american vehicles i take to the test and they are always in the same place .Drivers side on top of suspension ,and engine number stamped on a nice area of the block,thats accessable ,if no engine number exists then use the last 6 numbers of the chassis number .----know what i mean

usually under the hood there is several metal plates rivited to the bulkhead.....paint number...chassis number...and engine number...they will be marked accordingly
