SOURCE: How do you take off the center console for a 2004 f 150

My mother had the same problem in her 2004 SC Lariat. All you have to do is pop up that center console where the gear shifter is (it's connected by pop in fastners) and push that white default button on the side of the gear shift. After you get tired of doing this for a bout a week, the dealer will try and charge about 6-$700 bucks for this piece. Luckly we got it replaced for nothing...Thank God!!!

I forgot what the dealer said why was it malfunctioning; you might want to try and see if there is a recall on it first before you go and shell out some money. Hope this helps.

I'm actually surfing through yahoo to fix another problem I'm going through...the flashing climate control unit. Yeah, her's went out and I'm trying to fix it instead of going to the dealer.

SOURCE: replace bulb on automatic gear shift console

If the shift console is on floor then look for bolts holding it down.  Take out bolts and then you can maneuver console so you can see where light is plugged in and get the right light to replace it.  It will probably be a small light which tend to cost a bit more, but at least you'll have the light back.

How to replace gear shift indicatoc lamp on 2005 pontiac grand prix

You need to first remove the shift knob...with the car off, turn to on...not start, and pull the shift lever down to engage the low gear...then look on the backside of the knob for the removal clip, or screw...if yours has the u clip, you need to pull this out...(needle nose pliers) and remove...(or unscrew the small screw if equipped) You can now lift the knob straight up and off...you then need to remove the screws that hold down the center console...on the inside of the console, at the bottom...this will allow you to view and remove the indicator bulb...be sure to match the bulb exactly...some are bulb # 124...Switch out the bulb and reassemble...the u clip or screw must be back in place as the last step to re-attach the knob...Hope this helps.

Where do I find the PCV valve on a 1989 Pontiac Bonneville 3800 V6

The pcv valve is located in the rocker cover on the left side of the engine, it is just a small black plastic thing with a hose stuck to it. Pull it out and pull off the hose, hook it back up, you might need a new grommet, but it should be no problem, all auto parts stores have that stuff in stock. If you don't see it on the left, check the right. I don't think I have ever seen one anyplace else. Hope this helps.

Repair of a linkage cable - transmission 1990 Pontiac Bonneville

this should be easy remove center console and shifter cover . there are screws around the outside and center holding it in place, you don't have to completly remove to check upper adjustments and cable ends .you will see cable ends if wear or slack is not visible, With cover lifted shift from park to low and back again several times , look for loose ends or adjustments
if no sign of slack or exssesive ware leave cover loose and raise hood now have afriend shift the trans so you can locate cable ends on tranny you might have to slide under car to locate , check for ware (one end or the other will most likly be worn out) If you are wanting to save money you can replace cables your self for a third of a mech.cost it is usually a small plate in floor to loosen unhook both ends at trans. and remove cables pulling in to car, feed new cables in fromfloor out to trans .just make sure cables re hook to same shifter points ,its best to crank and make sure before completly securing console
