The Radio and OnStar are monitored by the BCM, so removing the stock radio will have confused it. Details in the link.

Does the OnStar fuse also run the radio, DVD and/or mapping?

OnStar doesn't have a named fuse. The Radio and Infotainment System are two separate fuses. You need a good auto-electrician to find the source of the parasitic draw, not find a way around it. You can test it yourself. Put an ammeter on the battery and pull one fuse at a time while someone observes the ammeter. Pulling one fuse will be the cause of the drain and show a drop in discharge. That is the circuit where the issue it. There is always a small amount of drain from the ECM, clock, security system etc.

Radio display isn't on..but my radio is working 2014 Chevrolet spark

http://gmauthority.com/blog/2015/07/general-motors-recalls-50731-units-of-chevy-spark-and-sonic-over-freezing-radios/

If your radio has the onstar capability, gm has issued a recall for the issue. If not, check the fuses to see if the display fuse is different than the actual radio fuse in your owners manual. Many new, especially "touch screen radios", connected to onstar for navigation have a tendency to freeze up or not display and gm will fix it for you as they recalled over 50,000 vehicles for it.

Why does radio volume sometimes have low volume even when turned up

Could be that the potentiometer is not tracking properly. If that is not it, then it is the chip that controls the volume at fault.

Onstar fuse blows when i put new fuse in

The OnStar module is behind the trunks side wall on the passenger side. Try unplugging that and install the fuse. The XM radio is on the rear shelf which requires little more work to get to.

Where are the fuses for Onstar, satellite radio and remote starter for 2008 Silverado 1500? Owner's manual isn't very clear.

Comments from the dealership, the fuse location for the Onstar system is located as follows: Drivers-side instrument panel fuse block, exposed on the left edge of the panel when the drivers door is open. Pull the fuse labeled: #22, a 10A fuse. The label in the owners manual calls it the "Driver Information Center (DIC)". This will disable the ONSTAR system.

Leave to GM to move the fuse locations around, this used to be under the hood and it was called the INFO fuse and it was a 15a fuse.

And yes....It does **** that they moved it from the '07s,on mine its a 15amp fuse under the hood marked 'INFOTNMT" like you said.

I want to disable XM radio and OnStar on my 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix. Can I remove the fuse(s) for each Unit without harming my vehicle? Can I disconnect any wiring harnesses? Where do I find each Units...

I have disabled factory xm/onstar units from many cars with no issue. i believe the onstar/xm units are both located in the trunk of you car behind the carpet (usually labeled accordingly). If you can find the fuse dedicated to the unit you can pull that. I have found the fuse is sometimes located on the unit. If you cant find the units then you can pull out the radio and unplug them from the back (more often than not it will be the smallest harness coming out the back). A quick way to test... have your car on and pull one plug at a time... make sure, once you have located it, test you audio (some harnesses are for amplified audio systems). The only neg. effect i have seen (rarely) has been the loss of the door chime.

My OnStar navigation no longer gives voice prompts for turns and such. Was working fine, radio mutes down but then no voice prompts play. Just started in middle of a drive. How do I get the audio voice...

I was told by on star that if you leave the drivers door open for 90 seconds and then lock all of the doors and wait until the next day the system will reset itself. I know this sounds like smoke and mirrors but it does work. Please let me know. Hope this helps.
