Automatic transmission not changing into third gear

More info please! Is it a manual or automatic transmission? Without more information we could be guessing all day long. is it stuck in first or third gear? does it go into reverse? Provide information freely.

Why are you shifting?Use drive,reverse and park,changing gears makes it get slow in time,wearing your transmission out.

Have it checked for DTC'S diagnostic trouble codes in the transmission control module ! Sounds like a bad shift solenoid .

the gears are stuck mabe jamed

Have you checked the fluid level? May need transmission service due to plugged fluid intake filter, or badly worn third gear clutch.

have you had the filter in thepan changed and oil changed in the tranny?

possible governor problem;
this part or group regulates the fluid pressures during changing loads.

May be the Throttle Position Sensor. Normally the check engine light will come on when this happens.
