Why does the trunk on my 2007 polo is only opening 1-2% of the time (so pretty much never)

Hi guys, does anyone know any reason why my trunk isn't opening? The light on the button of the car key turns on when I press it (so i guess that the key isn't the problem) but the trunk is just not opening. Any Ideas? I guess it can't be a fuse thing cause I checked the fuse box, and it doesn't seem like there's a fuse linked to it (or am i Wrong?) Thanks.

A sticking release solenoid is my guess.

Honda odyssey 2007 DVD player can be heard but not seen. Any ideas besides spending a fortune at the dealer

There are plenty of Audio/electronics repair guys around. All the dealer will do is sell you a new player. Ask friends and perhaps the guys at radio shack if they know anyone who can repair a printed circuit board. The RS guys are usually pretty nerdy. Good luck.

VW Polo Odometer displaying 'error'

Hi, I had the same problem with my 2007 Polo after a replacement key was made. The car and key would function, but the odometer display just said "ERROR" all the time.
Disconnected and reconnected the battery and that fixed it.

Took it to three different mechanics (two of which specialized in VWs) and they couldn't figure what exactly what was wrong with it or how to fix it. Every time they tried to connect a device to read the mileage, they said that the car wouldn't communicate with their systems. Tries contacting VW directly twice, but they refused to help at all (terrible customer service every time I've needed to contact them--going with another make next round).

My Polo previously had an issue where the odometer displayed the wrong mileage, but it corrected itself after I replaced the battery, so I figured just disconnecting the battery might work. Disconnected the battery, dead started with the battery disconnected, took the key back out, reconnected the battery, restarted it again with the battery connected and the odometer reading is back to normal and it appears that the system was able to correctly keep track of the mileage, even though the display itself showed an error message. I has estimated where it should be, just for the sake of oil changes in case it was something that couldn't be fixed easily, and the reading is pretty much where I estimated it would be.

Not sure if this is an issue with the newer models, but I hope it helps anyone having the same problem. I didn't see any solutions posted elsewhere.

Trunk won't open

Lower the back seat and crawl into the trunk and see what the latch is doing when you activate the key fob. the trunk lid will have to be open to enable any repairs. Also an emergency release cable is probably visible (yellow handle) inside the trunk and will Open the trunk lid.

Inside trunk release won't open trunk on 2002 Camry. Lock will not turn with master key. Remote trunk opener will open trunk.

1. Open trunk
2. Place latch in lock position
3. Pull inside trunk release to see what isn't moving
4. If trunk key won't turn, the key may be worn out and need to be replaced
