How to repair p1250 fault code in mazda premacy 2004 make showing "HOLD" on the dashboard and lower

Code P1250 = Pressure Regulator Control Solenoid Circuit
This is the fuel pressure regulator. I would recommend you get a Good mechanic to deal with this. Fuel injection systems run at Very High pressures and can be dangerous if you don't know what you are doing.

P1250 and P1569 codes. Engine still running rough after complete tuneup. What should I check now. Any Mcguyver fixes? 2002 Mazda Protege5

1250 is the fuel pressure regulator and 1569 is variable timing control solenoid. Both will cause rough running. I would check the regulator out first.

P1250 DTC on a 01 Mazda Protege

P1250 Mazda Fuel Pressure Regulator Control Solenoid

Since the code came back immediately this indicates that it is a hard fault. The solenoid is an electrical switch controlled by the ECM. In this case it controls vacuum provided to the fuel pressure regulator. On this vehicle locate the fuel injectors and the rail above them. At the end of the rail is the regulator which on it should have a vacuum hose. Check out the hose make sure there is not leaks or it is not coming apart. If it is okay the other end of it plugs into the solenoid. This is the failed component.

Determine which O2 sensor to replace.

There are many reasons for a PO171 code, these need to be checked before replacing O2's:

  • Vehicle driven low on fuel or until it ran out of fuel
  • One or more injectors restricted or pressure regulator has failed
  • Fuel delivery system supplying too much or too little fuel during cruise or idle periods (e.g., faulty fuel pump, or dirty fuel filter)
  • Air leaks after the MAF sensor, or air leaks in the PCV system
  • Air leaks at the EGR gasket, or at the EGR valve diaphragm
  • Exhaust leaks before or near where the front HO2S is mounted
  • HO2S is contaminated, deteriorated or it has failed
  • Fuel control sensor is out of calibration (i.e., ECT, IAT or MAP)
  • Base engine "mechanical" fault affecting one or more cylinders.

    1997 Mazda Protege-Engine Light-Cylinder 2

I would change the following in this order if your are tight on money...if not you could have it done all at once.

    1. Change Spark plugs (most likely cause of the misfire)
    2. Change Spark plug wires
    3. Change Rotor Button (this is inside the distributor cap)

All three are fairly easy processes. I would try this first before giving up on the engine. Hope this helps.
