Hi everyone. I have a 2006 Toyota Sequoia with 20,000 miles on it. Last week the VSC TRAC, TRAC OFF and CHECk ENGINE lights started coming on and staying on. I have been reading many posts on the net that talk about malfunction of the VSC TRAC sensor etc... Note that I have found that one of the small vacum hoses was loose and I put it back in its place. The air filter was very dirty. I checked that the gas cap is fine. I took the car to local toyota dealer (I'M In Dubai now) they said they can not read the codes on Sequoia made in US as they don't import them here. Anyone has tips for me to fix and diagnose this problem without getting the codes?
You have to know what code is stored to fix the problem. Toyota's will generally display a Check Engine light, VSC and TRAC light all at the same time, even if it's a simple problem with an oxygen sensor (for example). You can disconnect the negative battery cable for a few minutes, even though you should a scan tool should be used, to clear out the code.
Any more detail on this issue. The same thing just happened to my 2006 Model at 51k miles.
