I JUST had the same exact thing happen to me on the way to work. I stopped for a Quick Shop breakfast sammy and when I got back on the road, no gauges worked. I'm going to look at my user manual for my 2005 Equinox and see about a fuse.I JUST had the same exact thing happen to me on the way to work. If all the gauges on your 2008 Chevy Tahoe have stopped working, it is possible that there may be an issue with the instrument cluster itself. A malfunctioning instrument cluster can cause the gauges to stop working all at once. Other potential causes could be faulty wiring, a blown fuse, or a defective sensor. I would recommend taking your vehicle to a qualified mechanic or dealership to have it diagnosed and repaired.
check to see if you have missed putting a wire back onto the battery, also check to see if any loose wires around battery area, that may have broken from the terminal
check the fuses and fuse link wires by the battery pull the fuse link wire with your finger if it feels spongy or comes apart in your hand you need to replace it with a new fuse link wire
IF YOU REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND UNPLUG IT,PLUG IT BACK IN AND UNPLUG IT AGAIN..DO THIS A FEW TIMES..IT SHOULD CLEAN OFF SLIGHT OXIDATION ON CONNECTOR TERMINALS..HAVE SEEN THIS BEFORE..I ALSO THINK REPAIR CONNECTORS AVAILABLE FROM DEALER
