It is located on the tires (near the brake rotors for the front tires and in the rear end housing for the rear tires). The job of the wheel speed sensor is to constantly monitor and report the rotational speed of each tire to the ABS control module.
abs sensors are located at the front wheels also could be speed sensor these are easy and cheap buy an abs sensor put it on the driver side if the problem still exist than put it on the other side both sides take the same part there is no right or left also if it was a speed sensor most likely you would have problem with your speedometer (and possibly shifting problems as well if its and automatic) good luck sounds like a cheap easy fix theres only two bolts that hold the abs sensor on and possibly one bolt holding the wire to the frame
traction control is a separate system. If traction control or ABS is a problem they are taken out of the loop and the normal brakes still work. The master is for the brake system/ The ABS module and valve body and wheel sensors are your traction/antiskip system.
ABS light being on could be a bad sensor or broken wire to the sensors. ABS is on the front brakes, check the front wheels inside for wiring going up to the main ABS ecu mounted at the master cylinder. Check the wires from at the bearing assy. then follow up to the ABS ECU or the brain, for any cuts or nicks. You can have a bad wheel sensor you check these with a volt/ohm meter, Find the plug at the wheel and unplug it ck for ohms should read like .018 ohms. If you raise the wheel and spin it you can then read volts, depends on how fast you spin the wheel you can get 2-3 volts.
.
It's possible it's the ABS brake sensor is faulty. The sensor attaches to the brake caliper. The only way to verify if the ABS is functioning is to test them in a skidding situation which is unsafe. Normal braking would not give any indication if the ABS is functioning. You shouldn't automatically assume they are functioning and should get the car checked out at a shop that features free checks. Best of luck.

Doubtful it's an intermittent electrical problem. Far more likely you've got a wheel speed sensor issue. Since VSC gets all it's information from the ABS system, start by pulling the trouble codes. I bet you'll see an ABS code. Read this post
