Does yours have ZR2 option.?
The automatic lamp control (ALC) system and the daytime running lamps (DRL) feature, except the Canadian version, can be temporarily disabled by performing the following procedure:
A chime will sound informing you that the system is off. The system will remain disabled until the ignition is cycled off and then on or by pressing the DOME OVERRIDE button 4 more times within 6 seconds. The chime will sound again signaling that the system has been reactivated.
What brain did you replace ? You people crack me up , trying to save money by doing it yourself . You have no idea of the complexity of the system . You could have taken to a Qualified repair shop an spent less . Why on earth do you thing this has anything to do with the truck shutting off ? An it could have been as easy as hooking up the Tech 2 factory scan tool . There are a number of DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes that could be set for the ALC .
DTC B2648
The body control module (BCM) monitors the courtesy lamp relay coil control circuit in order to determine if the daytime running lights (DRL) or the auto headlights (ALC) should be turned ON in the AUTO mode. When the BCM senses the ambient light sensor voltage is between 1.7 volts and 4.7 volts, the DRL will be commanded ON. When the BCM senses the ambient light sensor voltage is between 0.2 volts and 1.0 volts, the ALC will be commanded ON.
Does the scan tool indicate that the ambient light sensor parameter is within the specified range?
0.2-4.7 V
DTC B2647
The body control module (BCM) monitors the ambient light sensor signal circuit in order to determine if the daytime running lights (DRL) or the auto headlights (ALC) should be turned ON in the AUTO mode. When the BCM senses the ambient light sensor voltage is between 1.7 volts and 4.7 volts, the DRL will be commanded ON. When the BCM senses the ambient light sensor voltage between 0.2 volts and 1.0 volts, the ALC will be commanded ON.
DTC B1398
And , if it was the BCM - body control module you replace , It's no wonder the truck shuts off , Don't know if your aware of it , but that brain needs to be programmed .
Important: If the module is replaced, the module must be programmed prior to performing the Passlock Learn procedure.
