SOURCE: how to replace front brake pads on a 2006 ford
Very easy!!!
Jack the vehicle and do only 1 at a time. The key is to take your time. You will need some disc brake grease stuff that prevents squeeks...auto parts places have it in a small package the size of a ketchup packet...get two to be on the safe side. You will also need a C-clamp and a pice of wood...like a scrap of 1"x4"...
Jack on side and remove tire
Place something underneath to protect from the break dust
Unbolt the two bolts on the backside of the caliper
Pull the caliper from the rotor and tie the caliper up and out of the way with string or wire. Hang it off of the strut coils
Remove the old pads and look at the impression from the piston side of the pad....it'll have a circle around it.
Now, on the new pad...squirt that brake quietner in the same pattern on that pad. set it aside.
Take your piece of wood or whatever you are using and place it against the caliper piston. Attach the c-clamp to it and compress the piston slowly. If you do it too fast you will have brake fluid come out of the reservoir.
Once you have it compressed almost completely flat, pop that pad in and squirt more stuff on the opposite pad. Put it on the caliper.
Carefully slide the caliper back on the rotor and align the bolts to the holes.
Tighten them bad boys up and you are done. If you do not disconnect any hose, you DO NOT have to bleed the brakes.
Put the tire back on and lower the vehicle.
Do the other side and you will notice you will be able to do it in HALF the time!
Good luck and let us know how you did!!!

SOURCE: how to replace rear brake pads
Jack up car, remove wheel. There are two bolts that hold the caliper on. Remove these. Caliper comes off, take old pads out. There is a special tool to compress the piston back into the caliper (do not use a C Clamp on the rears.) Put new pads back on, re-install the caliper, and put the wheel back on. Pump the brake pedal until it is firm. Done.
