Unreliable and dangerous

electronic faults for sure
the accelerator pedal has a sensor ..could be that stopping the car

that will need a diagnostic reader to sort out what and where

book it in for a service and a check over

Instant stop at traffic lights for no reason all malfunction seems to be ok, then after the vehchel cools down it needs a good half hour, it starts again and same after 2km of driving

How to make reset for service alert for my mercedes ml 320

To reset the service alert light, perform the following:

Within the first 4 seconds after moving the start switch to position 2, press the reset button for the trip counter twice within one second. The display for the service request is activated for about 10 seconds.

Within these 10 seconds, move the start switch into position "0". The service request continues to be displayed.

Press the reset button for trip counter and keep it pressed.

Move the start switch into position "2".

Continue to hold the reset button for the trip counter pressed until the signal sounds and the new start distance appears in the display (it takes about 10 seconds).

My Mercedes ML 270 cdi ABS etc lights and gearbox.

you need a Brake safety switch replaced.This is located behind you brake pedal.it's a common problem. The warning lights will reset after a few engine starts.
