There is no oil in a knock sensor , are you sure you are not looking at the oil pressure sender unit , usually fitted at or near the oil filter.

SOURCE: where is the oil filter

ok here goes
Since the engine air filter is pretty straight-forward I'll assume you're talking about the cabin air filter. I have a 2005 and assume it's the same for your 2003 so try looking behind the glove compartment. You should be able to get behind it by opening it and gently bending the plastic part that catches when it is all the way open so that it passes the catch. It will then swing the rest of the way down (you may want to remove the contents first) so that you can access the door to the filter.

The oil filter is located under the vehicle and unscrews from the oil pan.

clear all pieces you have to get to the crankshaft pulley off. (the big pulley ) you may need to rent crankshaft pulley puller tools (at autozone or advanceautoparts) and get you money back when you are done. its easy be pacient.

Where is my leak coming from?

Juan, Oil could be leaking from a lot of different location, places to start looking are oil pressure switch, valve cover gasket, timing cover/crank seal, oil pan gasket, etc. Engine may have to be washed down to locate leak. Have a good tech. scan vehicle for trouble codes, diagnose why car dose not run and estimate repair. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

96 mercuy grand marquie check eng light, i get a p0171 and p0174 how do i fix this.

Could be the MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor is dirty or faulty. Note: The use of "oiled" air filters may cause the MAF to become dirty if the filter is over-oiled. There is also an issue with some vehicles where the MAF sensors leak the silicone potting material used to protect the circuitry. There could also be a vacuum leak downstream of the MAF sensor which is more likely. You should inspect all the vacuum hoses and try cleaning the MAF sensor. Use only electronics cleaner to clean and let it dry before reinstalling.

If none of those work, then it may be caused by a dirty fuel filter or faulty fuel pump or clogged fuel injectors, but these are less likely

You do in fact have to take most of the dash board off. Actually it's not that drastic but you do have to take the glove box out and possibly the center console of the dash. Then you can get to it. Not easy, but not too hard. Lots of screws is all.
