Is this the 2.4L? If so, I bet the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve passages are clogged. Likely has 3 of 4 EGR ports clogged, sending all EGR flow to the #2 cylinder. Check if it still has 8mm plugs in each runner for EGR transition passages. If so, remove those plugs to clean the EGR passages. Hope this helps. Good luck!
you need to do and scan of the ecm and see if the o2 sensors are working they tend to get lazy in there signals they feed the ecm when they get more that 100k on them ? try this first hope this helps
If you haven't figured it out yet, try the two links below. They have pics and diagrams. I haven't done this yet but, Nissan suggesting to have it done. (Sitting in the dealer having oil changed as we speak. They want $90 to replace the 2 filters.) I'm planning on doing it myself to save about $70. Doesn't look too difficult - just a little time. Parts are about $22 at local parts store. hope this helps. (Won't be back on this forum. So won't see any response you submit back).
Thank you for your follow up. I fixed my problem by finding a hard working mechanic, not a dealership. When I got 3 estimates on replacing the PCV and the Fuel Filter on my 2003 Nissan, there was a $59 difference between the high and low bid. Obviously took the low. Thanks again! Postit2
