the cap should be marked on a vortec 4.3 liter. the left side of engine is from front #1 #3 and #5 cylinders. the right side from front is #2 #4 and #6.
get into the oil change where it tells you what percent of oil life is left before change,then hold the reset button by the readout for 5+sec till it goes to 0 percent oil life use
you have to remove the cover over the torque converter 4 bolts holds this on .you may be able to just move it out of the way. and yes it does sound like a starter problem.i hope this helps
sound like you need to change the thermostat it sticks closed so the hot water from the motor don't go through the heater core or the heater core is clogged .
