SOURCE: water pump

About 8, if you are methodical you should be ok. You will probably have to remove the cam belt. If you do you need a tool to hold the cams-the tool is basically a flat plate +/- 400 mm long and about 6mm thick which slots into the rear of the cams when engine is in the correct position and on tdc.

SOURCE: How much is it going to cost to have a water pump

it depends on certain mechanic shops. of course the dealer is always way higher. estimated 1 1/2 to 2 hours to put on depending if you have to pull off the timing belt. cost will be estimated about 250.00. call around some mechanic shops and see. some will be different than others.

SOURCE: does anyone know when the water pump usally needs

There is no set period for changing water pumps. If you are lucky it should in fact last the life of the car.

However, if the bearing starts to get noisey or if a leak appears around the water pump area, you should change it as soon as possible.

New or refurbished units are available from any good car shop

SOURCE: changing water pump 2000 ford focus

Changing a water pump is pretty basic. Since the coolant system is a closed system you only need to be concerned with that system. For instance you since you have to mess around with it anyway you might as well change the thermostat and flush the coolant system. Make sure your radiator hoses are in good shape and that's about it.
If you have basic mechanical skills and tools you will have no problem replacing a water pump.

As far as information with the actual replacement there are a number of experts here including myself that could explain how to do it.
However no matter how good our explanations are it just can't compare to a good repair manual.
A repair manual for your car at Auto Zone would likely cost between $12 and $15. It is a great investment if you are going to keep your car for any length of time. When you sell, it shows the buyer you took the time to maintain and repair it right.
I personally like Haynes Manuals.
I hope this helps.

No heat after replacing a water pump on a 2008 Ford Focus

You may still have air in the coolant system. Bleed the coolant and watch to make sure it dont overheat. Also turn the heater to full and set it on high while adding and bleeding the coolant system.

Does anyone know when the water pump usally needs changing on ford focus 1.4 2003

Water pumps generally do not need routine replacement. A good sign is leakage og coolant. Any detrimental wear such as a bearing will cause leakage of the seal.If it is a precautionary thought, Change it around 75,ooo miles. FGood luck, Ned

2003 Ford Focus low fuel light will not turn off

nope not a fuse prob.. most likely the fuel pump itself. there is a small chance it could be in the wiring back to the pump also but the pump is most likely the prob.

I replace water pump and i time it just by the manual but wont start on ford focus 2003 2.0L

The design of the ford focus is pretty bad. If you didnt do the timing perfect the pistons will hit the valves. This is called a zero clearence engine. You need to check compression in the cylinders and make sure they are in spec.
