No they are different, in basic terminology the front one is reading off the cam for the engine timing, while the rear one is reading for the fuel / air mixture, at least this is what the Chevy mechanic told me.
this, camshaft,, position sensor,, most of the time is located ,
behind the water pump,, and the timing belt.. but to make sure I recommend to buy the manual, repair book from your local auto parts for your vehicle when calling for the part sometimes the
auto parts store will tell you the location of the part you are
fixing to buy.
second step will be call the chevy dealer service dept.
and they can tell you, where this part goes..

You will need to find the trouble code for malfunctioning wheel speed sensor. The Powertrain control module thinks that there is a wheel spinning or slipping, which in turns retards ignition timing to limit the slip. It could be a bad sensor or a broken wire harness. Some parts houses can give you the code, but you will either have to take it in to a Certified Technician, or diagnose it yourself if you are qualified.
