SOURCE: see a visual diagram of heat oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 2 for ford taurus 2001

bank 1 exhaust is the rear manifold towards the windshield side. Follow the exhaust down. There should be one oxygen sensor before the catalytic converter and a monitor after the catalytic converter. Be Careful.. they look the same.

How do u know if a cam sensor is bad in a 2001 ford taurus?

The symptoms of a bad cam sensor or usually car the idles poorly, misfireing , when at a full stop car revs up and down . when accelerating the car hesitates. You should have codes that will confirm the issue. Most parts stores will read the codes for free.

Have a 99 taurus 3.0 ohc had a P0340 code changed sensor and synonizer used tool to locate when installing put motor at TDC first now next day get P1309 Do i need to redu complete process again?

I would recheck your setting as this can be generated if the Cam Sensor is not quite in synch. This is a very common code to appear post Cam Position Sensor replacement.
