SOURCE: Engine oil dipstick tube has

The dipstick tube should go back in right above the oil pan flange. If its a front wheel drive it will be in the front of the motor a little left of center in the block above oil pan flange.Trucks are in the same place but vary on which side its located on.

Dipstick go

make sure,to start, you didn't put the wrong dipstick (transmission or oil)in. Try,if the correct dipstick, removing the stick all the way out then twist so it faces the other way then ease it into its fullest making sure the end where you hold it from goes all the way too.

Where is the dip stick to check the transmission fluid on my 1995 Camaro?

The rear wheel drive gm's, Faceing the front, dipstick tube just behind the left side of the engine, and crouded there in front of the firewall. Check the fluid level with the engine warm, idleing in park.Pull the dipstick ,wipe it dry and insert it back, pull out and check the fluid level ,it should be on the full mark,if not add some,a cup at a time, careful not to add too much. ,

I need to check the ATF, and need to know how/where to refill if it is low. I have the '04 Kia Optima LX. Help appreciated greatly. Thanks.

Run the car long enough to fully warm up both the engine and the transmission.

Remove the transmission fluid dipstick, dry it off with a rag, paper towel or napkin. Wait a little (maybe o seconds) for the fluid that was on the tip of the stick as you removed it, and which might have been deposited on the inside walls of the tube the stick goes into to seep back down into the transmission. While you have the stick out and dry, familiarize yourself with the markings on it.

Put the dipstick into the tube, and fully seat it; make sure it is all the way in the dipstick tube.

Pull the stick out, and read the level of the fluid on it.

If transmission fluid is required, pour it into the tube the dipstick goes in.

Cannot find the transmission fluid port to add fluid.

Hi Clark,

The Transmission Fluid goes in the tube that houses the transmission fluid level dipstick.

I know, looking at the tube, it sounds insane. A long narrow funnel made specifically for this purpose is sold at auto parts stores.

Best regards,
Mike

Dipstick tube came out and i cant find the hole to put it back in

Some times the tubes rot off. Make sure you look where the tube pulled off the block there's a small hole on the side of the block the tube goes into. If it rotted off you will have to replace it just make sure you get the other piece out of the hole.
