SOURCE: Water is leaking into the

My 1990 Honda Accord does this too.
When I wash it or when it rains. If I open the trunk/deck lid water flows out of the right rear tail light housing into the trunk.

Solution: get some rubber gasket sealant and apply under the lower gasket around the rear window on each side at the corners. Allow for drying time. Close the trunk and try some water if this doesn't work you will likely have to replace the rear window seal.

Best of luck.

SOURCE: the trunk is leaking rain into the interior

buy some foam spray from a can spray it around trunk seam bottom not trunk lid. close trunk to let it dry and shape foam. also check for any holes in trunk. remove all padding to look for wholes. spray foam into any holes found. this foam can also be trimmed after it dries and hardens.

There is a leak in my 2007 Honda Accord in the trunk under where the spare tire sits, and the passenger compartment also smells as though there is a leak there

Water leaks can be very difficult to find.
You may need to take it to a body shop.
It could be the trunk lid gasket, the rear window seal, or something else.
And you may have mold growing inside.

What is causing my trunk to leak on my 1993 Honda accord?

Try checking the seals. If they are cracked or pieces missing. That will cause leaking.

Trunk leak

Check for defective spot welds around the plastic inserts on the left and right sides of the trunk. If the spot welds burnt through the metal, there will be holes were water can get in. Use some JB Marine Weld to seal up any holes or cracks in the sheet metal. Also, check the rubber drain holes under those inserts, that are in the sheet metal of the car, to make sure they are not blocked with road dirt. Also, check the weather stripping on the outside of the car, adjacent to the trunk. If the rubber and chrome trim weather stripping is pulling out (on the exterior of the rear quarter panel), then water will leak through the little plastic attaching screws and into the trunk beneath the plastic containers on the left and right front sides of the trunk.
