I bought this car used two months ago and it seems that the gear shift does not light up. All other dash lights seem to work. It's a 1999 Lexus ES00.
The car also has another issue... a squeaky steering wheel. It squeaks off and on when you turn the car more than 90 degrees, kind of sounds like Harry from "Harry and the Hendersons". I just tried some clear lubricant in the crack on top of the steering wheel casing, it may be helping a little.
Any ideas?
For the gear shift there should be a small bulb need to replace on most car replaceable. for you squeaking you need the clock spring this for your air bag you dont need to short out your airbag system
Just normal on older cars ,pump a bit tired
for the lingt ...just open the shifter compartement ...look the lingt is probably burned i think ther is only one lignt for all speed
