It started during a long drive and at stop lights while in gear it would idle at 350 to 400 RPM. A few trips later and hard starting, it wont run now
Test for a bad crank position sensor. An automatic idle control valve most likely is gummed up and needs to be cleaned too.
Hi Lawrence,
Thanks for the info I am guessing that the idle air flow valve could be the issue. how hard is this to get cleaned? do I need to remove the entire top end to get to it? Throttle body? Intake? I'm an old ford guy and know nothing about these yota's. One thing I also noticed is I do not hear the fuel pump turn on when I turn on the ignition. I also do not know where the fuel rail pressure test fitting is to see if there is any fuel pressure. I can hear and feel the EFI relay in the fuse/relay box under the hood actuate and click when the key is turned on. Could the fuel pump be the issue? I hate getting through hundreds of dollars chasing a problem one part at a time. I did test the old TPS and it was bad so replacing it was necessary. Looking forward to hearing back! Happy Holiday and thank again for your help!
Dan
