may happen when the system senses some weight on the passenger seat (dog, etc) or the weight switch is faulty/stuck. You can verify if this is the reason if the passenger airbag notice light shows ON.
It is normal operation for the odometer to light up with the driver's door being opened. It is not normal for the chime to go off. The "Key-In Switch" in your steering column is malfunctioning. The body control computer "Thinks" the key is in the ignition when it is not. It usually requires a new key tumbler assembly to fix this.
The warning chime is on because the GEM - generic electronic module think's the door is open . Your best bet ,have a qualified repair shop check it out . Unless you have a scanner that will talk with the GEM & the engine computer & ABS computer , checking DTC'S - dfiagnostic trouble codes . If you don't know about this , take it to a repair shop.
take wire harness apart underseat that connects to seatbelt on drivers side. then take a piece of aluminum foil and stuff it into male part so it makes contact with both prongs and plucg connection back together..problem solved!!!!!!
