SOURCE: Blowing dome light and rear wiper fuse.
Sounds like a dead short to me. You will need to find a wiring diagram for this one. Without it, I'd start by unpluging the motor and the light one at a time. Another good place to check is at the rear hatch, where the wiring harness enters the hatch, this is a common area for broken/shorted wires.Check that and let me know, I'll help how I can.

sounds like a mouse has got in and chewed the cables,their is no easy fix from what i can think of but check all the wires and connections in case water has got into it,or snow if your in alaska.its fifteen years old now so its possible that some insulation has broken down or a wiring loom has chaffed somewhere underneath

I had this problem, and to be honest, it happened to the left side about a week later...it's the board that the bulbs plug into...it's a very common problem with this model. So popular that you can normally get the socket board off the shelf at a parts store! it's extremely simple to replace, and I replaced all the bulbs at the same time!
