Not the fuel pump, it just goes click once when you turn the key and everything kinda fades, no further activity. Battery is fully charged. Almost like the solinoid in the starter kicks but the starter does not send age at all

I'd be calling NISSAN service manager to get some idea of the problem. They sometimes know the solution and can set you on the right trail over the phone. don-ohio

Thanks Don but the problem was a bit more extreme....the number 1 lifter bearing exploded and shrapneled the engine, new engine required

SOURCE: 2004 Nissan Murano, back door can't open

I had a similar problem with a sienna and sometimes the cable ( inside the door) between the handle and the latch gets stuck in the sleeve. Kind of like the brake cable on a bike.
take the panel off by removing all the screws you can see on the panel and pull the panel off. There will be plastic pins holding it. Some of them may pop off and some will break off.
Drip oil down the sleeve so the cable slides freely. I used bike chain oil. Do not use WD40. This is **** and will not work for very long. Try the handles a few times before you put the panel back.

most likely it is the transfer case leaking. known problem on the AWD models. they leak right down on the exhaust and causes the burning smell. have it checked out again.

SOURCE: 2004 nissan murano low 3 quarts oil. no sign of a

Hard city driving during the hot summer can and will cause a bit of oil usage. 1 qt in 500 miles is not excessive. If you recently changed oil and are using a different brand this also can cause a bit of oil usage, due to the engine getting used to it. Add to full and keep a good ck on it, it should level out. if not check your air filter, pvc valve, and any vaccume hoese.

I have a 2004 Nissan Murano that loses aceleration completely while driving. The vehicle crank well and start but loses acceleration after just 15 minute of driving, then I have to pack and start again...

There should be a check engine light on.You will need to retrieve the diagnostic coded from the computer to help you pin point why this is occurring. Go to autozone they will do this for free.

2004 murano

Temporary fix until you find someone who knows.
When you pull into your place to park the car for the night, or whatever, go ahead and unhook the battery. Re-hook up the battery when you are ready to drive it again. That will at least keep you from not driving it at all.
