The code in the key could be the problem. Sometimes they get weak.
try taking of the plastic cover around the key barrel and you should see a plastic ring around the key barrel, try sliding it close to the key if it then works it means it's the key needing replacement

Most common cause is a failed indicator relay. Just swap it with a known good one to confirm whether it's faulty but ensure it's correctly rated for your Kangoo.
After that, the next most common causes are more expensive: the indicator switch and the hazard light switch.

Dissconnect the battery .the starter is located on the gearbox facing into the flywheel. you need to remove any connectors that are on the back of the starter then take the bolts out that hold it on give it a little shake and it should come out.
