If you had two blinking CEL codes, a 12 (pause) and a 55, the code 12 means the battery has been disconnected within the previous 50 starts. The code 55 indicates the end of stored codes. Therefore, you have no saved trouble codes (disconnecting the battery deletes saved trouble codes).

Code 1255 for 1996 dodge intrepid

Hi there:
DTC P1255 - Pedal Correlation PDS2 and LPDS Low

It's when there is the wrong voltage between the electric throtlle body, and the electric gas padle assemblys. Either there is something wrong with the throttle body electric motor, the gas padle was disconnected, or there might be something else Im overlooking.

You need to be aware that some diagnostic equipment can put out spurious fault codes which are extremely misleading.

Hope this helps.

I have a 95 dodge intrepid. when i turn the key 3 times to pull the codes i get 1255 what does that mean

  • Hi, I can help.

  • 12 is the actual code.
  • 55 Just means there are no more codes stored.

  • This code (12) means the ECU has detected low voltage and the

  • This can happen if you change the battery or just removed the cables recently to do some car work.
  1. First check all the connections to the battery.
  2. Check the battery.
  3. If both check out and you have recently just unhooked the battery then just let it be. The code is normal in these circumstances.
  4. The code will reset itself after you cycle the ignition on and off 15 times. At this point the logic module will use the default values until it relearns the engine attributes again.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

1996 Dodge 5.7L no spark. Code 1255 blinks on check engine light.

As far as codes go, I'm thinking you were getting code 12 and code 55, which means (12) that battery was recently disconnected or went dead, and code (55) is the end of message code. I'm also wondering for sure whether you have a 5.2L, or 5.9L. Could you reply with more info like Make, model, year, and double check what engine, just so we get it right for you.

What does the code 1255 mean in a 1995 Intrepid?

That's probably code 12 & 55 which means 12-battery has been disconnected recently, and 55 is end of codes. In other words, nothing to worry about. Are you having any problems?

1996 mitsubishi eclipse 2.0 non turbo

That's wrong and the mechanic should know that. For 96 and newer cars, OBD 2 (onboard diagnostics, second generation) systems are in use, and the codes that come up are four digit codes.

That means that the code you got is 1255, not four individual one-digit codes (even a pre-96 car would have two digit codes, not single digit). Generically, a 1200-series code deals with fuel and air metering, but unfortunately I don't have a listing for a 1255. What symptoms does your car have? Is it just bad gas mileage or is it acting up in other ways? Post up as a reply here with anything along those lines that you can think of and I'm sure we'll figure out the problem.
