Same issue, no burnt fuses, lights work if using the brake wiring as a power source, just no in car power to running lights through that wire.
Yes, i spliced to get the trailer lights working - needed it done same day - dealer had no converters.
I quest if the dealer have no solution then you have to do the wiring your self but be sure your wiring is direct to the fuse holder which label spare this is to sucure your care from burning.
Use 10-15 amps remember that the negative is not so important but the positive is very important to be covered with high insulation rubber covers.
If the front light is on from the driver switch then just tap + Positive (RED) wire and run it to the rear red wire as I have mention before you can use the chassis as ground(-) (BLACK).

Converters are important in wiring system , replace and check wires and fuses that are worn out .and check the car battery.
