SOURCE: Change Automatic Transmission oil

Honda's are drain and refill only. The filter is internal inside the transmission and can only be accessed during an overhaul. On the bottom of the transmission case is a drain plug that is gold in color. It is removed using a 3/8" ratchet,or extension with a ratchet atached. There is also an aluminum washer that must be kept track of and reinstalled with the drain plug or a leak will occur. After draining the trans, and reinstalling the drain plug,Honda genuine automatic transmission fluid,or an equivalent with a highly fricition modified additive must be used,or harsh shifting can occur.I would install about 3 quarts after draining, and start checking the level at this point. The fluid level is checked with the engine OFF,on level ground.

I have the same problem with my 99 accord. For the past few years, I have been able to change out the fuse in the fuse box on the passenger side under the hood of the car up near the windshield. There is a map of the fuses on the top of the box. Hope this helps!

I need the the vacuum hose routing diagram for a 1986 honda accord with fuel injection unless this diagram is the same for a 87 as well

I can provide you with some general guidance on how to find the vacuum hose routing diagram for your 1986 Honda Accord.
  1. Vehicle Owner's Manual: The owner's manual for your Honda Accord may contain a vacuum hose routing diagram. Check the section on engine specifications or emissions control to see if the diagram is included.
  2. Underhood Sticker or Decal: Look for a sticker or decal on the underside of the hood or near the radiator support. Some vehicles have a vacuum hose routing diagram printed on this sticker for easy reference.
  3. Repair Manual: A comprehensive repair manual specific to your Honda Accord, such as a Haynes or Chilton manual, will often include vacuum hose routing diagrams. These manuals provide detailed instructions and diagrams for various systems in your vehicle, including the vacuum system.
  4. Online Resources: Search for online resources or forums dedicated to Honda Accord enthusiasts. Many online communities have members who share diagrams, tips, and information related to vehicle maintenance. These resources can be helpful in finding the specific vacuum hose routing diagram for your vehicle.
  5. Dealership or Mechanic: If you're unable to find the diagram through the above methods, consider reaching out to a Honda dealership or consulting with a qualified mechanic. They may have access to technical manuals or specific diagrams that can assist you.
Keep in mind that vacuum hose routing diagrams can vary between model years and engine configurations, so it's important to find the diagram that matches your exact vehicle specifications.

1998 honda accord automatic....when i change from

Make sure you report the problem to the National Highway Transportation Safety agency (www.nhtsa.gov). Also-research the web and you will find hundred similar complaints and a successful class action lawsuit in California against Honda for 1999-2001 Accord transmissions that showed the same malfunction code. The California settlement required Honda to repair transmissions and extend warranties up to 109,000 miles and 93 months.

These Transmissions are hard to FIX...I found very few rebuilders that can pull it off... They were recalled in 2000 ....sorry but it is no easy fix... the ONLY OTHER CLUNKING could be a problem is : your motor mounts are vacuum assisted meaning if you have a vacuum leak they will not stiffen the mounts correctly.... it sound crazy but look underneath you have small 5/16 vacuum lines near the radiator mount and some have it ont he firewall mount... I drive 99 Ex Accord!!!! rebuilt tranny 2 times !!!! make sure you get a warranty if you do...2000-2400 is a good cost....

Puting vac hoses back on and carberater on a 1984

The engine and emission control system covered by this information operate on a combination of vacuum and electrical signals; they are extremely prone to malfunctions due to improper vacuum connections. If a component does not receive vacuum at the correct time, it cannot function when needed. When working under the hood, pay close attention to the routing and placement of every hose.
