SOURCE: Here's a wierd cooling fan issue

Thats not too weird as the car would kick on the fans at full speed when it detects a problem with the sensor. Your ECU is not reading the sensor properly and needs to be checked by Ford. I hope this helps you.

Check your idle air valve, maybe your air filter needs to be changed. EGR valve may need to be checked at as well.

SOURCE: 2001 taurus dohc codes 171

There is a large vac line coming straight down from the throttle body that goes to the PCV system. See if it has a hole in it. It is likely sucking air.

I have a 2001 hayabusa the temperature guage isn't working where should I start

You need to find the engine temp sensor. It should be in the cooling system. Check your wiring diagram if you have one. Disconnect the wire from the temp sensor and turn the key to the on position. Now touch the wire to a good ground and note what happens to the gauge. If it goes all the way up or down the sensor needs to be changed. If nothing happens you need to check that the wire going from the sensor back to the gauge is good, you can disconnect the wire at the gauge and check by connecting both ends to an ohm meeter or use a test light. If this wire is goo now you need to check for power on the other side of the gauge. If no power that is the problem. If you have power the gauge is no good. That is it. I hope this helps.

OHMS Resistance for temp gauge

The OHM's are different from manufacturers. Usually the work or don't. I just test the leads and heat up the sensor with a lighter. If the resistance changes, it is good. If it doesn't read or doesn't change, it is bad. Wires usually break right behind the plug. Check for continuity at the lead and about two inches back on the wire.

2001 Taurus will not start when hot

check your throttle body sensor. The throttle body sensor opens the air intake. follow the air filter plumbing to the engine and it will lead you to the throttle body.

2002 oldsmobile alero the temp gage shows hot but it is not hot

Simple fix, inspect the temperature sensor wire leads or replace sensor. It's located on the intake manifold by the thermostat housing. Good luck and keep me posted.

How do you fix the temp gauge it stopped working ad is stuck above the H

Hello tj60576: My name is Roger I will help you. If the temp gauge is stuck? Locate the temp sensor on the motor.Disconnect the wire. After disconnecting the wire. Ground the plug end of the wire. You can do this with a extra piece of wire. Observe the temp gauge with the key on. The gauge should move to cold side of the gauge. If the gauge still reads hot or above then the problem is either in the dash or the gauge itself. You will find the sensor located on the cross over pipe front of the engine far right hand side of the tube.
Should you need further help please just ask. Please rare the answer you received. This way I know the answer helped. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

2001 ford taurus with check engine light on. code

Make sure you replaced the right one there are two sensor's for the coolant, one takes coolant temp and the other one runs the fans for the radiator. Both are located on drivers side of the block. 2 wire leads on each how ever both are different in sending readings to the computer. Both look just alike also. Just make sure you replaced the right one. Or replace both.

Temp gauge does not register when hot

To find out about the CTS (the sensor the above clarification request is referring to), try disconnecting the wiring harness. It's right behind the thermostat housing and upper radiator hose. If your fans kick on while the engine is running, it's probably an issue with your PCM (computer).
