Opel Vectra '04 3.2 V6. engine cuts out after starting or within 1km & traction control light comes on. starts with TC light on, or turn off & TC light does not appear. happens intermittently. Thanks

what codes do you get from the obd2?

My car has a TC button that lights or not if "Traction Control" is On. Traction control is if you accelerate on slippery surface the system brakes your wheels so one or more don't go wild, loosing traction.

Take it somewhere and have it scanned for codes. It will save everyone a lot of guessing.

you might want to check fuel pressure

Most likely because the computer cuts off the
fuel injectors to make what it thinks is a traction
control problem work

Once you get the codes & resolve them, the fuel
issue or loss of power will be gone

Can't continue to use vehicles when you get dash lights
on
All vehicle codes need to be retrieve within a day, so you
know if you should even use the car

All diagnoses & repairs should be over & done within a week
or park it

I know this is not a solution but I too started having this same problem today. Start car, runs normal then all the sudden it feels funny, traction control light blinks on and dash displays service traction control-reduced engine power. This causes my car to sputter like it is going to stall I have to pull over and turn my car off and back on to drive off (only for it to do it within the next 10 minutes). I thought turning TC off would work for now just to drive it, no not successful stil does it : ( I TOOK IT TO AUTO ZONE AND HAD IT SCANNED HAD A CODE FOR GROSS EVAC LEAK AND SOMETHING ABOUT THE THROTTLE PLATE/BODY NOT SURE IF THAT IS RELATED BUT THAT ALL THE INFO I HAVE ON THAT.

I am more familiar with Ford products. If you have a cutoff for the traction control on your dash you want to remove a battery cable to get the Engine light to clear.

Reattach the cable after 10 minutes and turn off the traction control. Then try starting the car. If that does not work disconnect the fuse to the traction control and then try starting again.

All the traction devices interrupt the engines as part of stopping the wheels from spinning. The Traction Control on yours is stuck. If you can eliminate that feature you may get your engine to run again.

had my 2000 chev impala 3.8 liter ,traction control llight and abs light both go on the reset it and go right back on .so i replaced both sides of the bearing hub assembly this is connected the senser,so far so good.replaced it dec 21 2009 about 3 hours ago. because the assembly came appart when took off.

A Opel is a GMC but its a good German car But the problem could be one of a few.
To start with Check the breather pipe on the fuel tank to make sure the air gets in to the tank while you are taken out petrol... It could be the coils getting hot and braking down..I could also be fuel pump in the fuel tank playing up and not pumping the correct pressure for injectors.
