where did you get code, whomever ran the test should have told you. It is an OBD2 and the codes are used by all automakers look up P0496 code in search box.
po121 is throttle position sensor is out of range.po442 is emissions system leak detected small leak.po455 is same as po442 but large leak.po496 is high purge flow . Check all the vacuum lines plastic also cause one of them is broken.
DTC P0496
This DTC tests for undesired intake manifold vacuum flow to the evaporative emission (EVAP) system. The control module seals the EVAP system by commanding the EVAP canister purge valve Closed and the EVAP canister vent valve Closed. The control module monitors the fuel tank pressure (FTP) sensor to determine if a vacuum is being drawn on the EVAP system. If vacuum in the EVAP system is more than a predetermined value within a predetermined time, this DTC sets.
EVAP purge solenoid. maybe.
code p 0496 refers to evaporative emission (EVAP) system---high purge flow===causes ---wiring --EVAP valve---mechanical fault
code p 0171system too lean bank 1===causes --intake / exhaust leak---AIr system---MAF/VAF sensor--fuel pressure too low/---pump--injectors ---Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S)
with the first code it could be a faulty vent valve or solenoid
with the second code , it is probably a faulty HO2S unit ( the one in the exhaust manifold before the cat converter)
this is a evaporative emissions code. which means there is a leak in the piping or something leading to the gasoline tank that is allowing fuel vapors to escape. More often than not the gas cap isn't tight or needs to be replaced.
