2006 altima has rattling when turn to the left in drive over 25 MPH , from 40 to 55 New tires, 4 tierods, ball joint bearing on right. Over 60, no noise but only when turn left
Drive shaft!
Testimonial: "Thank you for the help. Just to be more specific: 20 MPH - no noiseeven going straight even turning to left. No problem to turn at right. 40 to 55 , even going straight, some rattling, turning left worse, turning right, very silent. Over 60, the noise going straight almost gone completely, turning right very silent and turning left some rattling . Again, new tires, new alignment, new 4 tierods and right arm with ball joint and right bearing"
Either a failing wheel bearing or a failing cv axle.
Testimonial: "Yes, I changed both to not have to work again in that side. I changed the bearing and than bought the CV axcle for 50 bucks and change it as well being very easy now to it. The problem is that neither the bearing either the CV shaft after removal weren't very clear to be damaged. So which one ? or maybe a composed effect ? however I'm very happy is not the tranny"
Sounds like your describing a right side CV JOINT, the axle.Passenger side (fm the trans to the wheel)AXLE SHAFT
Testimonial: "Thank you Frank, are you referring to the right side -near the transmission box - of the left drive shaft ? the driver side one ?"

Noise is on right side?
thank you Bogdan for your help and time. The noise is on the left side when I turn to the left, even a little bit. And is there even I put the trans in Neutral and run. I checked the wheel and the ball joint is OK and the bearing seems to be in good condition as well.Checked with a stethoscope, no very clear for a different noise. Tire new and aligned. Someone sugested that can be the bearing if in Neutral is the same noise , but turning to the left is the method to define the right bearing mal function. And the right one is new from 2 weeks. The noise is coming fom the driver side for sure. Now what it is, I don't know, can you suggest any other checking ?
Did you check drive shaft on a left side?any damage or broken boot.sway bar linkage.
Tie rod.
All 4 tie rods, inner and outer, are new- 2 weeks ago - and the sways linkage as well- front and rear. On the right side I changes the arm with the ball joint and the bearing. Alignment and 4 new tires. The noise is still there in Neutral, no change.Disappears when I turn right. What happens than ? and over 65
went to a shop and changed both the bearing and CV shaft on the driver side, fixed the problem
I told you first drive shaft.I did for mine friend Toyota Yaris drive side without a test on a basis what they tell me.
Right, but not being evident - checking by hand- I asked to change the bearing as well to not pay again labor for a new visit. Was successful at the end. Thanks.
