SOURCE: Only 24,647 miles on my 2005 Equinox bad head gasket

This is common problem with some GM vehicles. I would go to the dealer and see if they can help you even if it is out of warranty. Your vehicle only has 24,647 miles so it is obvious there was a manufacturing defect. They may repair it out of warranty as a courtesy to you. It is done all the time. Honda just replaced the radio in my car that was out of warranty at no charge. Be pleasant and ask for help. If the dealer refuses then ask for the phone # of the district manager. Call them and if they refuse then you have no choice but to have it repaired and pay of it. Just make sure you tell them this is the last GM vehicle you will ever buy. Immediately get rid of this vehicle as you will have this problem again.

SOURCE: Ive got a 99 tahoe, 5.7 vortec, with 165k. Its

Most of the time when you run a fuel system cleaner in a engine that has not had a cleaning the sludge will clog the fuel filter. I would check the fuel filter before anything and if that is good, I recommend running a complete test on the vacuum lines sometimes if there is a leak in a vacumn line it will mess with the timing advance and cause the vehicle to behave different at certain RPM ranges

SOURCE: i replaced head gaskets on 1997 suburban 5.7 tried

There are a few things to look at first take a good look at the distributor, there are connections to the module, one goes to coil and the other from wiring harness make sure all conections are connected, check the coil connection too, next is theres a few ground wires to thermostat housing, this is a main computer ground, most of the time its grounded to bolt on housing if not look around for it and make sure its grounded, these are the most common reasons, also all power wires connected on alt and at the starter, make sure no wires were pulled out by mistake.

SOURCE: 2005 Chevy Equinox leaking oil out of exhaust

Take it back and have the heads redone. Sounds like they left oil seals out or they didn't find a crack in the other head. It is very unusuall for oil to come from the exhaust and not smoke. And if the oil is coming from the exhaust gasket ,then the mechanic also didn't do his job right. This gasket should be tight, no air or anyhting else should be coming from between the engine and exhaust manifold. The never timed it is impossible, as it has to be timed to run. I would probably take it to anoher shop, explain what has gone on, get an estimate to fix it. And demand the other shop pay for it.

My 99 chevy blazer 4x4 misses and shuts off some times back fires through the exhaust

Usually, an engine that backfires thru the exhaust is a sign of ignition problems.
Assuming you have the standard 4.3 V6, you should have a flat distributor cap and standard rotor.
I would start there.
The cap could be shorting out inside and making the coil fire the wrong plugs at the wrong time.
It could also be other issues with the distributor or the ign module.

Its possible that your crankcase is full of gass too, I suggest change oil and filter, also, if it wont go over 40, the converter (catalytic) is probably damaged as well, raw fuel in the exhaust will break up the cat. Oil change is imperitive as too much liquid in the crankcase will destroy an engine in seconds. Can also be caused by the clogged converter, too much backpressure.

Get a vacuum gauge, hook into a manifold vacuum source. Increase RPM to 1500-200 and hold steady, if vacuum gauge falls, exhaust sytem has a restriction, the cat or muffler or a pipe has a broken chunk of the cat blocking it.

Hope helps; keep us updated.

ALOT OF SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST

Blue smoke is oil and means you have internal engine damage.
White smoke with a sweet smell means you have a blown head gasket (check antifreeze, if it's low that is another sign)
White smoke with no real smell is water in the gas tank. Grab some water remover.
Black smoke is a sign your burning to much gas, you need a tune up.

If the the atnifreeze isnn't leaking untill the engine overheats, the check the electric cooling fan is working. If it is working then you may have a crack in a cylinder head on the exhaust port side.

No heat and so many problems

Is the antifreeze leaking on the ground? The white exhaust usually signals a bad head gasket which allows antifreeze to leak into the cylinder and burn. I recommend getting it to a garage, its a fairly big job.

Grey smoke coming from exhaust and oil in the exhaust pipe

Grey or blueish smoke indicates that you are burning oil, usually a sign of worn piston rings.

Keep an eye on the oil level in the vehicle

In my 06 Chevy Equinox I went to put the key in the ignition and the ignition wouldnt turn to start the car up?

**** the steering wheel hard side to side. That should release the interlock. Otherwise the ignition switch is worn (unusual in a 06 car unless it's an awful lot of stop and go driving).

2006 Chevy Equinox - Service Lamp Reset

Turn the ignition to run. Within three seconds push the gas pedal to the floor three times. Turn the key to off, and then start the car. The light should flash three times signifying that it reset. If it does not, try repeating the process, but instead of turning it to off after stepping on the pedal, just start the car.
