This is common problem with some GM vehicles. I would go to the dealer and see if they can help you even if it is out of warranty. Your vehicle only has 24,647 miles so it is obvious there was a manufacturing defect. They may repair it out of warranty as a courtesy to you. It is done all the time. Honda just replaced the radio in my car that was out of warranty at no charge. Be pleasant and ask for help. If the dealer refuses then ask for the phone # of the district manager. Call them and if they refuse then you have no choice but to have it repaired and pay of it. Just make sure you tell them this is the last GM vehicle you will ever buy. Immediately get rid of this vehicle as you will have this problem again.

Most of the time when you run a fuel system cleaner in a engine that has not had a cleaning the sludge will clog the fuel filter. I would check the fuel filter before anything and if that is good, I recommend running a complete test on the vacuum lines sometimes if there is a leak in a vacumn line it will mess with the timing advance and cause the vehicle to behave different at certain RPM ranges

next step is to remove the intake, you are on the right track, worse i ever found was a cracke block, but that was in a 61 t-bird which was repaired with jb weld ten yrs ago and still holding, but the intake gasket sounds right

There are a few things to look at first take a good look at the distributor, there are connections to the module, one goes to coil and the other from wiring harness make sure all conections are connected, check the coil connection too, next is theres a few ground wires to thermostat housing, this is a main computer ground, most of the time its grounded to bolt on housing if not look around for it and make sure its grounded, these are the most common reasons, also all power wires connected on alt and at the starter, make sure no wires were pulled out by mistake.
SOURCE: 2005 Chevy Equinox leaking oil out of exhaust
Take it back and have the heads redone. Sounds like they left oil seals out or they didn't find a crack in the other head. It is very unusuall for oil to come from the exhaust and not smoke. And if the oil is coming from the exhaust gasket ,then the mechanic also didn't do his job right. This gasket should be tight, no air or anyhting else should be coming from between the engine and exhaust manifold. The never timed it is impossible, as it has to be timed to run. I would probably take it to anoher shop, explain what has gone on, get an estimate to fix it. And demand the other shop pay for it.
