I have never heard of an Air intake temp sensor. A dirty air filter will put the Mass airflow sensor out of range. change air filter first as its a lot cheaper. Get a printout of the OBDII scan for stored fault history.. let the printout be your guide to parts replacement to avoid buying parts you don't need.
Right off the air box its the first sensor on the vehicle .
The air is sucked through the air filter then goes through the mass air sensor so its in the air duct .
They have a spray can cleaner you have to remove the clamps and connections and remove it .Spray it with the cleaner some times it works .
Its a rather expensive part but its vary important because it is the first sensor that the computer reads to adjust all engine controls .
Also don't through it away you will get a lot for the re core value.
Possible causes
- Faulty mass air flow sensor
- Intake air leaks
- Dirty mass air flow sensor
- Dirty mass air filter
- Mass air flow sensor harness is open or shorted
- Mass air flow sensor circuit poor electrical connection
Before replacing the mass air flow sensor, try replacing the air filter and cleaning the air flow sensor with low compress air or mass air flow sensor cleaner. Reset code and drive vehicle. If the code comes back, it may be necessary to replaced the mass air flow sensor.
P0113 Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Circuit High Input Indicates the sensor signal is greater than Self-Test maximum. The IAT sensor maximum is 4.6 volts or -50 C (-58 F). Possible causes are Open circuit in harness, Sensor signal short to power, Damaged Sensor, Improper harness connection, Damaged PCM
P0102 Mas Air Flow (MAF) Circuit Low Input, The MAF sensor circuit is monitored by the PCM for low air flow (or voltage) input through the comprehensive component monitor (CCM) If during key ON engine running the air flow (or voltage) changes below a minimum calibrated limit, the test fails. Possible causes are MAF sensor disconnected, MAF circuit open to PCM, VPWRopen to MAFsensor, PWR GND open to MAF sensor, MAF RTN cirbuit open to PCM, MAF circuit shorted to GND, Intake air leak (near MAF sensor), A closed throttle indication, Damaged MAF sensor, Damaged PCM.
COULD BE A FEW THINGS, WIRING SHORT TO EARTH,MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR,VOLUME AIR FLOW SENSOR OR ENGINE CONTROL MODULE, BUT CHECK AIR INTAKE HOSE FOR LEAKS/ SPLITS FIRST
It could be lots of things, one worth checking is to make sure the throttle body is not sooted up excessively. If your mass air flow sensor is not in the throttle body make sure the hose to it is connected and not leaking, Also check to make sure the intake or throttle body are not leaking coolant into the intake manifold. It would be something you should be able to spot with a scanner and a cold start, sometimes dirty mass air flow sensors and even coolant temp sensors can cause it as well. Try cold starting it with the coolant sensor and mass airflow unplugged just to see what it does. This will turn on your check engine lamp however.
Thanks for using FixYa. The BUICK Regal Mass Air Flow sensor is usually
installed in the intake air duct between the air filter and the throttle body
mounted on the intake manifold. Also check the throttle body for mass air flow sensors location. On mass air flow sensors with a sense wire, this wire can
become contaminated with dust particles. These particles can be removed with
automotive solvents that are safe for the use on mass air flow sensors. Before replacing the
mass air flow sensor check for air leaks in the connecting air ducts and intake
manifold. These leaks can cause similar symptoms as a malfunctioning mass air
flow sensor.
Bad or contaminated BUICK Regal Mass Air Flow sensor can possibly cause a wide
range of various vehicle drivability problems such as stalling, especially when
the engine is cold, misfiring, poor acceleration, etc. In addition, a problem
with the Mass Air Flow sensor often causes the "check engine" or
"service engine soon" light in the vehicle instrument panel to
illuminate.

The vehicle is starting and idling on the coolant and air temp signals sent to the compiter. It's running on what used to be called the chokecircuit. But now, instead of picking up idle speed until the hoke is kicked down, The new system with coolant temp and intake air temp the computer cuts the fuel back when it reaches operating temp. At this point the MAF (mas air flow sensor tells the puter the engine is running by the airflow through the intake.and maintains fuel in proportionate to create the proper air/ fuel ratio for the engine to idle. The more air that goes hauling **** down the intake duct, the more fuel there is made available. So, it sounds like the mass air flow sensor is not picking up on the low velocity ,low volume air getting to the engine. Now, This nasty MAF sensor is in one of the metal tube sections of the intake duct coming from the air filter. The wires sticking out of the tube will tell you which section you need to get at.. The sensor can be cleaned with CRC brand electrical spray cleaner. Was the sensor off completly with this spray only. Do not rub, brush or otherwise touch the sensor. Let it air dry which it will do quickly. Do not use cmpressed air. The sensor can be damaged easily because it has a flash self cleaning capabilit and is a sensitive air velocity and density sensor.. Clean the other ducting of dirt and dust there is but leave none of it loose to get into the engine and remember a new air filter. Good Luck and happy motoring. -Ned-
The M.A.S. is in the top of the metal tube between the air filter box and the intake manifold. It will have a wire connected to it and it is held in by 2 screws. This is an easy replacement and should take no more than 5 to 10 minutes, assuming you are taking your time.
hi yes it is two wire plug in ??? in some type but in another type it was internal of MAF sensor the MAF is mas airflow sensor in the air intake of engine
