On a 1996, you will have to take it to a dealership. They will have to plug it into their DRB (handheld computer thingy) to turn it off.

from inside, at the center bottom of the back door there should be a button covering a 1" hole. If you look inside with a flashlight you will see the linkage coming from the handle, with a straight screwdriver or a prybar gently lifting on the latch while pushing out on the door should give you success. . It Just worked for me.

remove the panel from the rear hatch and you will notice a piece of the sound deadener has moved up against the power lock activater,the sound deadener is made up of a rubbery tar kind material that goes almost gooey when warm,as far as the key,keep spraying a penetrating oil inside the door lock and gently but forcibly work the key in and out and back and forth but do not twist too much and break the key off

chrysler/dodge minivan keyfobs may contain a button for the automatic door/hatch when it is not equipped does the overhead console contain a switch for the door or hatch? if it does then somethings wrong if it doesnt its just another button on your keyless :)

Try reset procedure first and see,if that is helping.:--- Pull the OID or IOD fuse.On some its OID and on some its IOD.Look on under side of fuse box lid for markings for the fuses its there towards bottom left if you are standing on driver's side of the vehicle. Fuse box is under the hood on drivers side not inside of van. It's a 20 amp fuse in the middle on the left. Look at the top of the fuse box on the inside of the cover. If its possible,then remove this fuse and count 5 slowly.Or wait 5 seconds.Then reinsert the fuse back to its place.Then check if this is working. -----------------Keep updated.Thanks.Helpmech.
