How do I remove center console from 2001 Toyota Camry xle

This is a known failure item. Take it to a dealer & have them replace it under warranty. I personally have changed 20 or so. The replacement boxes seem to have been upgraded, and do not display this issue any longer.

Solved it. Found a small shank screwdriver that fitted into the opening with a little bending of the plastic frame. managed to replace it with a new one without trouble. No further help needed. dave

Take cover off back at the trunk and it will pop out push in light twist off and put new one in

there should be two screws up at the front and a few in the conole undert the rubber mat looking piece in the console
