Torque specs exhaust manifold 2002 Nissan Frontier 2.4L

The torque settings for the Nissan Urvan YD25 engine are as follows: Cylinder head Bolts: 27Nm (20 ft lbs) Intake manifold Bolts: 7Nm (5.2 ft lbs) Exhaust manifold Bolts: 7Nm (5.2 ft lbs) Oil Pan Bolts: 7Nm (5.2 ft lbs) Oil Drain Plug: 25Nm (18.4 ft lbs) Timing Chain Tensioner Bolts: 7Nm (5.2 ft lbs) Camshaft Sprocket Bolts: 25Nm (18.4 ft lbs) Crankshaft Pulley Bolt: 215Nm (159.2 ft lbs)

1998-2002 Nissan Frontier with 2.4 L KA24D and KA24DE class engines , Cylinder Head Bolts Tightening Procedure :- you have total of 10 bolts , 5 on the LH of engine and 5 on RH ( LH is the intake side and the RH is the exhaust side ) : starting from center LH #1 , #2 on RH center side , #3 LH front of #1 , #4 RH behind #2, #5 RH before #2 , #6 LH behind #1 , #7RH engine front corner , #8 LH end of engine corner, #9 LH front engine corner and final #10 bold is RH end of engine corner .
the Torque spec steps are as follows :
step A- tighten all bolts to 29N-M ( 3.0 kg-M or 22 Ft lb ) step B- tighten all bolts to 79 N-M ( 8.1 kg-M or 59 Ft ib )
step C- loosen all bolts completely .
step D- tighten all bolts again to 25 up to 34 N-M ( 2.5 up to 3.5 kg - M or 18 to 25 Ft lb )
step E- using angle wrench ( turn all bolts clockwise 86+ - degrees ) if you don't have an angle wrench ? do as follows : as final step : tighten all Bolts 75 up to 84 N-M ( 7.6 up to 8.6 Kg - M or 55 to 62 Ft lb ) .

AutoZone has a lot of info on torque specs for various vehicles.
The Xterra uses torque to yield bolts which must be replaced every time the bolt is removed.

You should have torque to yield bolts there. That means single use - you need to buy new bolts. Then, you would torque to spec (maybe 10-12 ft. lbs.) then an additional 65 degrees of tightening rotation.
Call your local auto parts supplier.

which engine.? 8v or 16v.

the manifold unbolts, see the studs there. they are nuts acutally

the trail pipe flange , has.

on the 8v, engine has 3 nuts and washers.

the 16v engine runs a donut ring, and 2 long spring loaded bolts.

that love to seize.

it just unbolts but rust is devil we all deal with.

the 16v has 2 bolt flange on top that holds up the AIR PIPE>. huge.

Both cases, exhaust manifold and new gasket, torque the bolts to 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm).
